Help Me Choose Dishwasher LG or Bosch

Hi

With a budget of around $800, I have shortlisted the two Dishwashers LG 14 Place QuadWash Dishwasher in Platinum Steel Finish XD5B14PS and Bosch Series 2 60cm Freestanding Silver Dishwasher SMS24AI01A.

What are OzBargain views among the two, Remember the budget if you want to suggest Bosch series 6!

Working with Appliances Online is a breeze, don't know if the other shop is any betta

    • Will be price matching with Appliances online for LG

      • Don’t forget to use the velocity Estore for appliances online. When you buy the Bosch

  • Bosch in general is debatable one of the better if not, the best dishwasher brands in terms of reliability and longevity.

I dIY installed our Bosch underbench washer and it was a wacky chaotic method and I just ended up making up a custom way to fix it in place. Dunno if all washers are like that but it was pretty wack. I lost a little faith. Been a good washer though so whatever.

        Sounds like that's on you?

        • Ever installed a dishwasher?

The lg has 2y + 8y motor warranty. The Bosch has 2y warranty but a good reputation

    clearly not a nube landlord

  • I have a similar LG (https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/lg-quadwash-stainless-steel-d…) and it's been great for the 12 months I've used it. Very quiet and the dishes are almost always clean. The only thing that's troubled it is when I leave dried up guacamole on the bowl - now I rinse those.

    • Even on the hottest setting?

      • Actually I think I've only used the hottest on pots and pans. For crockery etc I just use auto or turbo.

        • I use the hottest on everything. It's solar power anyway so cost isn't a concern. It means I won't put plastic mixing bowls and stuff I actually care about in it. But I like the confidence that everything else is being blasted with 65 degree water.

It takes a long time to fill it so crusty dishes do get put in there. Housemates won't use it much because the husband doesn't want to empty out his own dishes, the wife doesn't want to empty the husband's dishes, and I'll be (profanity) before I start being their domestic servant. So feels kind of futile using it to save water and energy for my dishes when they will use litres of water to hand wash a single plate with the more expensive gas hot water.

    Or

Left of field - Euromaid. Replaced my Asko which packed it in not even 5 years in. The Euromaid has been going 7 years and counting now, best $399 ever spent.

  • I got the quad wash recently in Qld for $715 using the LG spin to win promo then got $300 cash back from the Gov due to its 4 star energy efficiency. Dishes come out clean and we run it on the ultra low power cycle which takes long but we do it at night. So good so far

  • We got 11 years out of the old one, which was a Bellini, and we bought a Bosch (S4) two weeks ago.
The bloke came around to install it and while he was here I asked him which ones were the most popular. He said about half his installs were Bosch. When I asked him why, he said, "because it's a Bosch".
It is damn near silent (we've had to check several times to make sure it was running) and does a great job cleaning the dishes.
Interesting, this particular one was made in Turkiye.
