This is kinda a niche product for the trail runners. They attach to the front of the trail running vest for hydration.

These bottles usually retail for $40 at Salomon website and are currently sold out

  • Good share mate. I actually bought one a few days ago and didn't think to do so. It's niche but is great value for those trail runners in the community :)

If you're just looking for soft flasks and don't already have a salomon running pack, aonijie ones from aliexpress go for under $5 and do the job. Haven't tried the salomon ones but they do look skinnier and have markings if that matters to you

They also commonly leak at the seal between lid and flask. One of mine always has and so have plenty of others (per Amazon reviews)

      • Oh maybe I got lucky. Have got that and another green coloured one from aliexpress that I've used for a couple of months. Time will tell I guess.

        • Yeah fwiw I think they're either broken on arrival or ok on this front. Manufacturing defect vs just a failure over time.

    • I find the Salomon flasks easier to drink out of. I seem to have to bite quite hard on the aonijie ones.

      • Yeh i noticed that. But it also stops me trying to drink too quickly. I do wonder how long before I end up biting through it

These are great - you often get a couple free with Salomon running vests, which is how I ended up with them - I use them if I'm running over about 7-8 km in warmer weather. If they're really full they can flop a little if you haven't pushed them down in the vest enough, but apart from that they're super useful.

  • Could be handy if someone intended on sneaking liquids into a festival.

    • How is it different to smuggling alcohol in any other type of bottle?

      • They fold up in your pocket when done

        • Which doesn't help the smuggling process whatsoever.

If you don't completely fill it, it conforms to fit in many more hiding spots than a glass bottle would.

        • Just like a plastic bottle?

If you like this for the convenience then great, I just don't think it remotely helps "smuggling alcohol" anywhere.

  • thanks bought one
