Property Management Charges

Is it common practice for the real estate agent to charge separate advertisement fees in addition to 110% letting fees?

This agent is trying to charge $500 for advertisement alone though there won't be any new new pictures taken or sign board outside the property.

What would be an appropriate fee to advertise only on the website (I think it would be put on both RealEstate and Domain at minimum)?

It depends on why you’ve agreed to is the short form answer to this question.

    Each agent is different

  • Mmm it's probably a bit high for no photos or floor plan etc. But yes normal for a separate advertising fee to the letting fee.

Mine charged 98 for advertising fee and 242 for initial property condition report plus 2 week's rent for a 12 month lease

You should have taken the 0% deal that was posted yesterday.

  • Read the contract you signed with the REA as it will have the info/details in the contract you signed.

If you did not understand the contract or read it then you are up the NT croc infested river on a leaky boat.
