OzBargain and HTTPS

Have been playing around this morning with the HTTPS Everwhere add-on for Chrome and Firefox after it received an update yesterday.

Just noticed that I can't plus or neg comments using HTTPS. No issue when I switch back to HTTP.

Thought I'd make up a thread for anyone else playing around with HTTPS to report any bugs they find…

Yes with HTTPS a lot of Javascript does not work. I'll take a look at fixing them sometime.

  • Interesting, I'm using the x64 version of Palemoon, just installed the v3.0 addon from your link, restarted and confirmed that ozb is now HTTPS and I just +'d scotty's comment.

Chux - are you using FF or chrome?

    • should have mentioned that… was playing with it at work which uses Chrome.
I'll have to check on a firefox install at home and see…

    • Scotty started making some changes last week.

Yes voting on deals should work now. You'll still get warnings about insecure content loaded on various browsers, which are mainly from our CDN which hosts the deal images and default avatar images.

      • can confirm voting looks all good now. cheers

  • not that its a HUGE deal… but just inadvertently noticed when including an internal link in a comment that ozbargain didnt recognize my HTTPS url as internal and change it to the orange colour. switched link to HTTP and all's good.

really liking that aesthetics of the orange coloured internal links so i thought I would point this out.
