  • I would make sure to get an IPS panel.
Would recommend avoiding 32" for 1080p, some would say 1080p 27" isn't great but depends on how spoilt you are.

    • 27" is the aim - any suggestions ?

    • thought 1080p at 24 inch wasn't great, couldn't imagine 27 or even 32

That AOC 24G2SE from digiDirect at $129 is a good price, though it does use a VA panel (1080p).
If I was going for a 24" I would choose an AOC 24G2SP which has an IPS panel (1080p) (though is also more expensive).
    Umart $178

For a 27" monitor I would be looking for 1440p resolution, but prices are likely a bit above your budget.

Well if that is what he wants, and he is the one using it, then get that one for him.
I have no experience with it, but it is a 165Hz IPS panel, so that is good.
My only concern is it is only FHD (1080p), so the resolution is a bit low for that size panel. As long as he is not sitting too close to the monitor it should be fine.
It will still work fine, and for most people it will be ok.

  • If your son plays cs2 or valorant get this https://www.mwave.com.au/product/benq-zowie-xl2411k-24-full-…
Fast tn panel. Thought about posting this as a deal but ozb'ers don't care for it
Otherwise the aoc 24g2sp that someone else mentioned https://www.umart.com.au/product/aoc-23-8in-fhd-ips-165hz-ad…
Should be decent looking ips panel for general usage
