Great price for this awesome set. Picked it up in Japan for about the same price. Hard to find. Loads cheaper than Hobby Co but good to see a local retailer stocking these.

Also HobbyCo has the 25th year anniversary edition for 50% off at $225. None online but try your local. The local store stocks isn’t reflected online. Picked one up at the QVB, NSW store last week.

  • I'm going to Japan soon - where in Japan did you get it? In Akihabara?

Yeap loads of options there but had to get the used unopened one for 30k yen

      • I'll wait to get it there. International delivery will come too late otherwise. Lol.

  • Oh I would wish for a re-release of the DX Chogokin VF-1S..

Got the VF-1J from Japan also. Cool set. Very nostalgic.

    • I got an OG VF-1S from over 25 years ago. Lol. Proudly looking over on my bookshelf.

    • That’s only the armour pack. It doesn’t include the actual figure

  • Not a huge macross fan but I like the designs. I read about the legal issues in the US which basically blocked all macross shows and toys from appearing in the west. Took a punt on the 25th anniversary figure and was a little disappointed at the quality. Lots of plastic not much paint apps. Macross figures are particularly expensive. And compared to Bandai builds, third party figures from moshow or ccs toys it doesnt feel as premium.

    • That's because of those asshats at Harmony Gold ("Robotech") that argued they had full distribution rights to all Macross things, but wasn't actually in their contractual agreements in the early days. They tried to sue everyone that used anything Macross in the west. I thought this matter was already sorted out a few years back now considering Microsoft and FASA got involved in the fight as well with the mecha designs (Battletech).
