Anyone Bought Laptop from Newegg?

I wonder if it is safe to buy laptop from Newegg (when they are on sale) for those models which never comes to Australia? Will there be any issue with their warranty policies?

Shipping fee is free, and on their website prices said GST inclusive, does anyone know if there're any more hidden fees charged on top please?

Newegg used to be a fantastic company. Several years ago they were bought out by a mainland Chinese company and have turned to crap.

It'd be like buying a laptop from any big US store, but without any of the customer protections from a place like Amazon. Warranty for some laptops at least would be global, and provided by the manufacturer and not the retailer.

Personally… I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole these days. Especially from the other side of a massive ocean.

    • They are bad from years ago, they just didn't change after all.

    • I hope no one ever buys BHPhotoVideo. Even with international shipping and GST they are usually much cheaper than anywhere in Australia.

      • They should be… pretty safe? It's a privately started up and owned company run by a Hasidic Jewish family, not some publicly traded operation.

        • so even BHPhotoVideo cannot be trust either?

          • @kaikor: What? They are probably one of the best known names in the industry. I was commenting to say that they are unlikely to be bought out and gutted by some faceless corporation.

  • Approved by one of the largest tech YouTube channels, Newegg can definitely give you a one of a kind service.

  • Thank you all, looks like I can save my cash and not being scammed by these pr|cks.
