    Light bulbs: Philips
    Tyres: Michelin

Stay away from anything is French except the latter two.

Lucky that Philips is a Dutch company.

Yes indeed, that's why 'the latter two'.

  • To control this product, you’ll need a Bridge. Extra $99.95

      Or just a zigbee stick

  • $7 Zigbee motion sensors on AliExpress have been more reliable and required far fewer battery swaps in my experience (if you aren't using Hue bridge). The Sonoffs are also great for a couple of extra dollars.

    • Are these Zigbee motion sensors off AliExpress compatible with the Hue bridge? If not, what ZigBee hub are you using instead?

      • Zigbee2mqtt

        • Thanks, something to investigate 👍🏼

@OlorinSledg3: zigbee2mqtt + homeassistant the only platforms you ever need for full home automation

            • @Leho: I've got Home Assistant and love it. Need to dig deeper into zigbee2mqtt.

This is a great sensor. I use it with all my hue lights and it’s easy to set up in the hue app. You can also bring it into home assistant and configure more complex automations, for example using the illuminance values.

Have also found it to be the fastest to respond

  • These never let me down. I have some of the cheaper ones for use with Home Assistant and there is a lot of hoop jumping to get them up and running.

Also the magnetic holder works to attatch it to a wall if you have metal studs. Only ever falls off during earthquakes. :)

  • I heard these are fast if you have actions set up in the Hue app, but they're quite slow in passing motion to HomeKit if you need to set up more advanced actions that can't be done in the Hue app. Not sure about other smartphone platforms.

It's also quite big with a circular bulge at the back which can make it quite hard to place discreetly, but the included magnet is strong.

  • consuming lot of battery
