Smart Devices That Work with Mirabello Genio App

Hi all,

I have the Mirabello Smart Echo System with the door sensors and downlights. Started off with the Smart Plugs and then odd globe and then expanded from there.

I like the Mirabello stuff and still do. But it's never on special. I started with the Mirabello because Woolies would have them on special at 50% every now and then, plus they sold the Smart Plugs, but they only sell the globes now.

What other brands/types connect to the Mirabello App for control? I know the Crest ones do from Big W. I got on few on special during the last deal.

I would assume the Eko Ones would possible also connect?

Does anyone know of others? I have had a few of the smart plugs now die and in need of some replacements.

Cheers!

I think the ones you mentioned are all Tuya based devices. I use the Tuya app and have had no issues. I chose Tuya app initially because it seemed to be the only app that had documentation for Home Assistant at the time, not because one Tuya based app is better than another, imho.

I believe these days there is a good chance a lot of the lesser known smart device brands are Tuya based, Eko, Tapo, Crest, etc.

    • Awesome, thanks. So Tapo is TP Link from what google is showing, is that right? Like this from bunnings ?

      • Sorry, it seems I have mistaken. Seems like Tapo is not. But I have Genio and Crest smart plugs at home and they are both added to my Tuya app. I believe Eko is Tuya based as well. Best to google the brand + tuya and see what others have said before you buy.

Brilliant, will do. Looks like Arlec is compatible as per @JimmyF and a quick google.

You'll quickly learn what is and isn't a Tuya device. One hint is all the 'apps' look the same just different branding.

The Mirabello app looks like the Smart Life app, but the Mirabello app will only pair Mirabello devices while the Smart Life will pair any Tuya device.

            • @JimmyF:

Mirabello app will only pair Mirabello devices

I was able to pair the Eko devices to the Mirabello app.

              • @geekcohen: Hmmm they might have changed it recently. But a few years ago it wouldn't accept anything but Mirabello devices. So I moved to the one app to rule them all.

                • @JimmyF: I did notice that all of sudden they had a lot more devices in their list a little while ago.

The only thing I noticed lately, which is a bit annoying, is some of the automations are failing around sunrise, sunset etc. Could just be me, but I think going to the Tuya Smart Life App and doing a complete reset setup again might be a good idea. Just need to find a cool day as some of my stuff is in my roof that I need to do a reset on.

@geekcohen: Sounds like a good plan. But with summer coming up, it might be a early morning trip into the roof!

                      I think so…….

                  • @geekcohen: Out of curiosity, what smart device have you got sitting in your roof?

                    • +1

@geek001: Smart Switch for some 12V outdoor flood lights.

                      • @geekcohen: The pairing process is pretty simple once you have access to the plug. Pro tip, review the manual on how to put the device into pairing mode if you don't want to spend ages in the roof.

Normally on the smart plugs it is press and hold the button while plugging it in to power, wait for the light to start flashing. Your plug might be different though.

                        • @JimmyF: Yeah that is correct with what you just said, so should be straight forward once it finds it. The other option is to unplug the device, bring it out of the roof, configure it and then put it back in rather than sitting in the roof waiting for it all.

All the devices you listed in your OP are Tuya based aka Crest and Eko and Mirabello. You're best to move over to the Tuya Smart Life app. This is the 'mother' app and you can pair any Tuya device regardless of the brand to it. So you only have to deal with one app.

The downside is, you have to repair and setup all your existing devices that you had in the Mirabello app , but the plus side is, you only have to do it once.

In mine, I have Mirabello, Arlec plus other branded devices and even some generic OEM devices from Ali express, all in one platform. Works well.

Exactly, but might be worth it based on the info I have found out.

      Arlec would be great!

Via the Tuya app, I've now got:

    • Arlec
    • Brilliant
    • Eko
    • Crest
    • Lenovo
    • Kogan (not the Zigbee stuff)
    • Click
    • Connect
    • This is very helpful! Thank you!

  • Can confirm that Arlec and Mirabello work on the Tuya Smart Life App. Bought some Arlec smart switches from Bunnings and connected successfully along with transition my Mirabello devices across (which I am still doing).

The Tuya Smart Life App has a lot more features as well compared to the Mirabello, so that's a bonus!
