    Part Time
    33.5 hours per week

  • I think you're right… it'll be around the $65-70k mark, pro-rated. (That's pretty much the entry-level salary at the banks).

    • if its 70k pro-rated then its $70000/38*33.5= $61710? Sounds ok for a simple job

If its 65k pro-rated then its $57320 which is bit low……..

Sounds ok for a simple job

It's not an easy job. You have to stand there all day long and it'll get very boring if you're not the "right person" for the job. It'll be a high turnover role.

Did you just sum up the whole retail industry??? LOL

        • -3

And you have to deal with some people that are incapable of doing what they needed online

      • simple job

I can't think of a more stressful job than dealing with entitled customers all day.

        • +1

          Thats retail, just in banking.

      I reckon it should be $69 420 p.a.

Hopefully that includes super and other benefits otherwise it ruins the perfection

Let me show you a picture of my dad's car. It covered with Star Wars stickers. You've probably seen it hanging around King's Park or have you seen it on the ferry to Rottenest?

        • Its such as waste of talent if you dont apply!

@Aerith-Waifu: Hey is it you who made a thread about the star wars sticker car? Did your dad go ahead and do it? Could you maybe make a new thread and show us how it came out please?

No, you are doing it wrong, the correct way is:

'Whats up bro? What do you want? You are not just looking at a pretty face so ask me anything that i may or may not able to help’

It's less than $70k (easy to tell, search for job ads and use the payscale range. $60k it shows up, $70k it doesn't) prorated, so probably $55-60k. It won't be easy, they expect pretty high standards and won't hire you without some relevant experience.

CBA been one of the biggest bank surely its going to be 60k+? No? Yes?

Entry level roles at big companies are often snapped up because they're more secure, they don't really need to pay more just because they're one of the biggest banks. Often it works the other way, the promise of career movement means they pay less, because some people take the job seeing it as an opportunity to grow their career and have a big 4 bank on their resume.

    • That's pretty bad if its less than $70k, a friend of mine started working in a telco and gets around $68k a year. Pretty easy job he says too

      • Why not apply for a job there? Lot of churn at the moment in telco and they might have a referral system for your friend.

    • Very high or low chance it's a bait and switch job application with the big companies?

      • Bait and switch? In what way?

Regardless, no. Big companies just run ads to get a human for the role they're advertising. Screwing around with how you hire people just gets a bad reputation in the long run.

@Muzeeb: Well here's hoping they don't stick OP in a bank 90 minutes away.

Always a risk of branch closures. It's one reason I like a head office, they don't move very often.

  • +4
  • Being the public face of a whole branch should probably pay more than that imo. It looks like it doesn't, but it sounds pretty full-on for that kind of pay, dealing with customers all day every day.

    • +3

Based on the greeters I have come across the years with ANZ I would say this is prob overpaid.

Might as well replace it with an AI kiosk.

    • should probably pay more

Have you ever used these people's services out of interest? They normally smile at you as you head to the right counter yourself if you are already a customer.

but it sounds pretty full-on for that kind of pay, dealing with customers all day every day.

LOL then that would apply to ANY customer service role, from check out people, to fast food, to retail.

So they all should be getting $100k plus!

      • Kind of off topic but how are most teachers not on at least 100k smh

I did my hard time in retail with a fair share of horror stories and now work in wholesale/specialist supplies and I 100% would never want to go into teaching…

        • Agreed, teachers are VERY underpaid for what they have to deal with.

$60k greeter has it easy compared to a teacher dealing with the kids and then the kids parents. Yikes

          • @JimmyF: i did 2.5 years of undergrad secondary education at uni and thought yeah this is not for me lmao

  • Should be at least $80k.

    • Why stop there might as well make it 100

      • Cost of living….. Make it $150k

        • cost of living

There will be no more pickup menulog subway orders. I’ll tell the children.

CBA been one of the biggest bank surely its going to be 60k+? No? Yes?

LOL the job is a greeter, stand at the door and greet people with a smile and direct them to the right counter. How much do you think you should be paid for doing that!?

    • At least throw in a half hearted no eye contact handy J every Friday and maybe we have a deal

  • Probably $50k at best.

    • $55K full time, a friend used work the same role just said its one of the most brainfart job he ever had. Not sure which bank though………lol
