Looking to purchase either the iPhone 15 Plus (128GB) or iPhone 14 Pro Max (128GB) for my wife for Christmas.
Costwise very similar. 15 Plus is $1649 vs iPhone 14 Pro Max on sale for $1769 .
I'm struggling to choose between the two!

Higher refresh rate screen, once you get one you can't really go back.
Not from my personal experience myself but recently wife’s 14 Pro cucked (sudden “Unknown Part Unable to determine if your iPhone camera is a genuine Apple part” warning), and everything lags from there so had to buy a replacement phone eventho we’re not flying overseas within the next 60 days to maximise TRS refund. Upgraded to 15 Plus 128GB in PINK (man the pink’s gorgeous), and she’s been RAVING about it ever since.
Biggest plus, not only it’s lighter, but most importantly Battery life according to her has been magnificent. From her Normal heavy-ish daily use (Socials browsing mostly), using normal battery mode, 100% 5AM ➡️ 28% midnight (~19hrs).
On Low Power mode, about 50% longer lasting she said. That’s definitely massive improvement in my books when comparing with her 14 Pro, gotta charge at least once less than 12hrs with the same usage pattern. Both of this scenarios also using “Always On” GPS tracking for EV purposes.
I think definitely go 15 Plus mate, and if u can buy direct from Apple even better (buy Apple GC on JB and go to Apple to buy)

The colour is definitely a consideration also. I'm leaning towards the Pink 15 Plus…
The pink is gorgeous. I was looking at them at the Apple store this week and it is by far the best pink they have come out with yet.
A few things to consider:
imo, I would get the 15 for futureproofing, USB-C will be the future.
She's coming off an iPhone 11 Pro Max… so anything would be an "upgrade".
I'm not sure she'd even care about the ProMotion, but it's certainly something I think is hard to go back from once you see it haha.
Her use is mostly basic - texts/scrolling/photos of the kids.
We do still need lightning cables sadly. For my phone, an older iPad, airpods. But we do also carry USB C for other devices (iPad, headphones etc).
It's hard splitting the two! I'm also leaning towards future proofing…
For what it's worth, I charge using MagSafe so rarely plug in a cable. USB-C rates if you're a vlogger as it transfers files at a reasonable speed. 14 Pro Max has the always-on display if you rate Nightstand Mode.
I'd go the 15 Plus.

the 14 pro has better camera and 120hz display
Ive got the 15 pro max and my friend has the 15 pro. Both my phone and his have bugs in them. His runs slow sometimes and non responsive.
Mine too goes funny sometimes and have to reboot.
My other friend has the 14 pro max and he says he never had a problem with it. He had for over a year now.
