Combined Arms (free OpenRA-based mashup of C&C, Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 1 & 2) 1.0 Release out now

The freely downloadable OpenRA-powered game Combined Arms release 1.0 just dropped over on ModDB:

New Units & Support Powers:

Both Nod & GDI have been given new Tech centers, Support powers & Navy's to enable them to engage the Allies & Soviets on a level playing field.

All factions receive new units (some from TS & RA2) in order to freshen up old gameplay.

A sample of the new units include:

  • GDI Airfield & A10,
  • GDI Hover MLRS,
  • GDI Titan,
  • Nod Infiltrator,
  • Nod Cyborg Elite,
  • Nod Banshee
  • Allied Prism Tank,
  • Allied Grand Cannon,
  • Allied Harrier,
  • Soviet BTR,
  • Soviet V3,
  • Soviet Kirov Airship
New Art/SFX:

While the majority of the content is taken from either TD or RA, new sounds & artwork have been added to enhance the mod.

Some of these include:

  • Nod faction buildings are sporting a Tiberium Dawn beta colour scheme.
  • Medics & Mechanics feature Tiberian Sun voices.
  • New missile trails and explosions.

    thanks for sharing slipkord.

We drag out our C&C titles every so often for a bit of head to head but it's getting too hard to get the multiplayer working (or our patience is diminishing incrementally). The game looks quite good for a bit of enhanced retro domination and this mod has multiple elements of games we have played

After sharing this one to my discord group , a mate came back and suggested another RTS - Beyond All Reason - he's played both and threw out a challenge to me to pick one so we can have a go. BAR is also free, probably better graphics.

    Both have merit
