Best Vacuums under $400?

Pretty much what the title says. I'm looking for a vacuum cleaner within my budget ($400 or less) that's available right now in JB Hi Fi, Good Guys, Harvey Norman etc. I don't have a preference on the type of vacuum just that I would prefer bagless. I would be using it mostly on carpet and I have no pets.

Which vac is your favourite, from the research that you have done so far?

Xiaomi G10. Forget those stores and order online.

  • Just went through this myself, have a look at choice magazine if you can. Bosch GL-30 is the top rated under your budget, but there are also stick vacs under that price if the short run time is sufficient.

    • I would not recommend the GL-30

Stick thing and head keep coming apart and you don't get a spinny head thing for carpets….

I went bagless, cordless then I eventually fall back to Miele C3 and I couldn't be happier.

    • Same here. For years I loathed the idea of spending money on bags, but Miele C3 changed my mind. Suction is amazing and you can get the bags in bulk on special.

  • If you can get a Miele sub $400 (like on special) then go for it.
They use bags, but bags are so convenient. When full, chuck & lob in a new bag. Find yourself the Miele-branded bags too on special and you shouldn't pay too much. Way better quality than the no-name compatibles.

  • honestly upon a time hoover made good ones, i went to godfreys auburn tested theirs out had zero suction, ended up buying a new muscle head for my Dyson Cy22 which can lift the rug off the floor with the suction

  • Concur with @oscargamer, you need a spinny head thing for carpets. My suggestion: Dyson Ball Animal Origin $399

Our Aldi $49:00 Bagless is 6-7 yrs old… still does a grand job and comes with all attachments. Why pay more?

  • This will beat anything you put it up against and will last for years.

Dyson lasted 1 day. This is used everyday for 5hrs per day. On construction sites, outdoors, you name it. Bags are $1 each. But 1 bag will last the average person a month.
