Portable Hard Drive for MacBook, iPad and Chromebook from Officeworks

I want to get stuff off a macbook and ipad and put it onto a portable hardrive.

If I can, I would also like to use it with my chromebook.

Is someone able to let me know which cheap one I should get from officeworks?

Would I also need to buy any extra cords to go with it?

I have to do it tonight.

  • any ideas?

  • A single place to store your files, means, a single place to lose your files.

  • Ive never ever had to connect my ipad to a hard drive. Why in the world would you need to do that?. For other said devices, get any size/configuration that suits you.

  • Samsung t7 or t7 shield portable SSD- comes with USB C To A, and C to C. You just need your own cable to connect the iPad to Mac

Format it to exfat so it’s compatible with Mac and windows (I assume the Chromebook OS too)

What stuff needs to come off the iPad?
I believe you would transfer or back up the iPad to the Mac, then from the Mac to the SSD

And then transfer the Chromebook stuff

    • I have photos on a work Ipad that I want to take off the ipad and store but the airdrop function is being a goose and not working. I have a personal chromebook and a macbook work computer.

both the ipad and the macbook need to be given back to work.

  • Why not just upload it all to iCloud? Extra iCloud storage is a lot cheaper than buying a drive.

    • I know a cloud is a place to store things but I don't know anything about clouds and where to find one/set one up.

  • If you're asking these questions, just use GoogleDrive. Once you turn on your Chromebook, you wont need to do anything else. Google will handle the cords and magic.

  • Uploaded to google drive (existing or create new Gmail), pay for a 1 month subscription if you’re out of storage (up to 15gb total is free). Then worry about downloading it somewhere else later and cancel any subscription before the month is up

    • I like this idea thanks :)

  • I suggest using office365 sub. You have 1TB with good Onedrive app, which auto upload photos and sync between devices.
