Koorong $10/month credit for 4 online reviews/month

Hi all,
I know that Koorong is the most popular and the most unpopular shop to mention on ozbargain ;-)
Anyway, just noticed that they're obviously trying to build up their online review numbers & so are offering the following:

"Koorong has an existing rewards system where purchases made on a member account accrue voucher points over the calendar year. Once 300 points has been reached, we send out a $10 Reward Coupon as a way of saying thank you!

The current review reward awards 75 voucher points for each successful review, for a maximum of 4 per calendar month. In other words, 4 reviews can net you 300 points which would equal a Reward Coupon."

*Conditions:
- Bonus points are only given for approved reviews that conform to the reviews guidelines.
- 75 bonus voucher points will be awarded for each published review.
- A maximum of 300 bonus voucher points can be awarded in a calendar month.

So basically $10/mth credit at koorong for telling them about books/cds/… you've read. If you're like me then you've got lots of books/cds/DVDs (it can be about anything they sell), so 4 x month isn't that hard.

Just thought I'd mention it. I haven't tried yet.

  • Hmmm… I think paying for reviews would probably bring in wrong kind of reviewer.

They could encourage existing customers to review the books they have purchased. For example sending them a reminder a month after the delivery to suggest them reviewing the product, for the benefit of other customers (I am sure many will be willing to help this way). But only existing customers who have purchased can review, to prevent people who just copy and paste random reviews from Amazon :P

  • I think paid reviews are here to stay… Just like 'in the old days', market research was done for free - now that sort is basically non-existent. People need an incentive for their time.

On the +, you do have to have an account with them in order to review, so it's sort of only existing customers. They also say they have to approve the review (including that it's original etc), so there is some accountability.

    Anyway, I'll be reviewing!
