Best deals always happen after Black Friday. Paid 818 for the Gigabyte one 2 weeks ago, reckon I do a cheeky return and get this instead?

Nah. Sounds like a lot of effort for $19

      • +2

(maybe) Taking apart your build. Driving to the post office. Buying postage. Possbile glitch in shipping or loss in postage. Definitely too much for $19.

        • Ye just stirring the pot

          • @dabbberboi: (profanity)… You unstir the pot right now you (profanity)'ead!

I know this is Ozb, but all that trouble for $20? Never mind the return postage.
I'd rather keep the (hopefully) cooler, quieter triple fan card. Your priorities may differ.

      • Ye was just joshin

We've broken the $800 barrier! Keen to seen some of the third party designs closer to this price.

Would this be okay to pair with a Ryzen 7600X? Can’t afford the 7800X3D.

Got a 7900XTX with a 7600X and no problems whatsoever.

      • Sweet, thank you.

should be fine most games if you are playing 1440p or more.

      • What if I’m playing at 1080p? Wouldn’t the raw power would overcome any bottlenecks?

        • 1080p probably games depends, I will say even max settings there will be games that will be bottlenecked by CPU 7600x. If you are playing the newest games, 7800xt is fine for 1080p as some newest games are very power hungry. Otherwise you can buy cheaper GPU.

My build pairs it with a 7600X. Based on logical increments ( https://www.logicalincrements.com/ - absolute gem of a website, set to Australia pricing) falls into the excellent tier of CPU + GPU combos, able to max out 1440p and medium setting 4k

  • This or RTX 3070Ti?

    • This

    • 3070ti should be cheaper, but 7800xt is faster. Except when RT is on performance should be similar .
I will pick 7800xt 16gb VRAM for safer bet the games i might play in few years, but still depends on your budget.

Insane delivery fees. $170 to Melbourne, $189 to Sydney.

    • Oddly enough, showed as $15 postage for me, now showing $200+… must be some error there.

  • +2

    +$170 shipping to Melbourne. Rediculous!

  • A deal for those who can C&C but WTF is up with $306 shipping to WA???

  • $231 shipping to Brisbane. Not a deal.

Postage is borked. With their purchase of MSY they may have a wider reach than some realise.

Decent first post OP but yea delivery is wack

Hopefully 7900 XT is next up… I've been waiting but no decent discounts yet!

  • PC Case Gear has been lowest $829 but free shipping on this and all other 7800's this whole time, over a month I think…

  • No stock at any QLD stores

    • the pulse is available and other then being a slightly bigger card seems to have identical specs?
also swaps 1 DP for a second HDMI
      I'm tempted…

  • Well this card is only about %20 better then the 6800XT. Certainly not worth the upgrade yet unless your on a 5700XT or something and were considering a 6800XT already and DON'T want to go second hand market.

IMO AMD should have called the 7900XT the 7800XT and the 7900XTX the plain 7900.. That would have been more sensible marketing and give better value proposition to the lower end of the perf scale.
