  you still have to use their proprietry 1-2tb upgrade cards right?

  and usb3 ssds can be used but only for cold storage?

    Yeah, cold storage is fine imo takes like 5-10mins to transfer 50gb-100gb. All Xbox One and Xbox 360 games can be played directly off cold storage though. I'd keep the games that's played often on the internal drive and all the rest on a 5TB HDD. It's possible to play games via cloud with Game Pass Ultimate as well so there's that.

      This is what I do. Just transfer games when I want to play them, otherwise backwards compat titles work fine off external storage.
