They never check this, and i have been to most of R&B's sales over the years. If you know about the deal and its details, you should be fine. You may even see someone handing out advertisement flyers about the sale, just outside the store.
True. Went last year to the same same, there were two people on either side of Macquarie Place handing out flyers. Worst comes to worst, its free to join, then opt out of their emails.

Good offer. FYI, the fine print: "This offer is available to Rhodes & Beckett database members only during the dates indicated." So maybe they check you are in their database before giving you the discount?
