AliExpress - 5 Different Items/Orders for a Custom PC Build "Failed to Clear at Imports Customs" since 13th Dec

Should I just keep waiting or do I have to contact customs?
If I have to contact customs is there any info on how to do this?

Hey at least it wasn’t Temu

      • There is also another company called Wish to add to the fun.
Try scumtree or marketplace for less cold items….

This comment is literally the only web search result (which is impressive since it's only been on the internet for 2 hours…)

      What is "ADAACHS"?

Another Day Another Aliexpress Customs Horror Story
        .

just wait….seems to be common right now. had a couple orders recently do the customs thing then cleared pretty quickly
they must be under the pump and arent keeping up

    • +2

Yeah I'm the same. Got an email saying it was stuck at customs, received the item a few days later.

Maybe customs is slower than expected since we're heading towards Christmas and AliExpress didn't get clearance notification within whatever timeframe they want and so email the receiver to say it's stuck in customs…

Unless your order times out - you're covered by aliexpress if you dont receive. So yeah i know you want your package, but if for whatever reason you dont get it - you'll be able to claim your cash back

Why would someone order a custom built PC from Aliexpress of all places- surely this is something where local product support and warranty is of value.

    • +1

      1000% agree

    • +4

Maybe it's commodity items or consumables like water cooling hoses and fittings?

You can't exactly return a cut-to-length bit of pipe, so you might as well save a bit of cash by buying 3x as much for half the price from China and make some mistakes.

Makes sense, I had read the OP as an entire built PC as I wouldn't expect any cheap subcomponents to trigger a customs check.

  • Yeah it's pretty common atm, guessing it's their way of extending the delivery timeframe without it lapsing.

    • How? AliExpress have already sent the item so it's not them delaying it. It's Australian customs who are putting it aside for clearance later.

      • -1

It's more so that it buys them delivery time - hence why they inform you and that it's out of their hands sort of thing so don't message us.

        • Being out of their hands is true. Once it's shipped they no longer have control of how long it takes. It's not an excuse by AliExpress and they have no control over it.

Now if it's a Choice product then AliExpress certainly don't want it to be held up. They promise 14 business day delivery and will compensate you for anything that exceeds the timeframe.

@Clear: ….with a $1 dollar voucher you can spend on aliexpress?

            • -1

@franco cozzo: Exactly it's a loss for them. They're not so quick to refund in disputes now either. It doesn't make sense that Australian Customs are now conspiring with China to hold up your packages so that AliExpress can give you a dollar. No sense at all.

I had that same thing happen last week don't panic. Bought a mini pc and got stuck with the same message but after 2 days it moved and it got delivered 3 days later.

Your first issue was ordering a Custom-PC Build from Aliexpress

  • +1

Completely normal. It will clear in a few days time and you'll receive your product. Chances are AU customs are understaffed and flooded with parcels.

I've had a few failed to clear customs messages but they still turned up a week or so later

  • +1

Yeh that message is worse than it seems. I've had a bunch of stuff from Aliexpress recently and gotten that message, but all have been delivered. Just give it a little time.

  • Ordered some small tools November 3. "Leaving from departure country/region" November 8.

    "Out for delivery

Arrived at linehaul office" November 17.

"This package is now with the destination country/region's carrier. Under economy shipping, further tracking info may not be updated. Please contact the carrier for details."

    Still waiting :-(

3 or 4 orders made after that have arrived within 5 or 7 days !!!

    • when this happens to me the delivery usually arrives right at the end of the delivery eta…i.e last day or so

    • Still "Cleared Customs … Out for delivery.

      AliExpress eventually paid me out.

I wonder if the items are actually still in a container in Melbourne or Sydney,
waiting for the DP World wharf dispute to be resolved?

Enter your tracking number here, it will give you more up to date info than Aliexpress does.

According to aliexpress mines been sitting at "Failed to clear at import customs" since the 16th yet 17track shows it arrived at sydney airport on the 17th.

    • Where is customs located?
      .

      • Here you go.

        • Washington DC, cool
          .

          • @Nugs: Strange!, first link for me was "https://www.abf.gov.au/help-and-support/contact-us/offices"

  • Yeah, I’m done with AliExpress. Tried to request a refund for an undelivered item supposedly ‘held up in customs’ which was rejected due to lack of proof. How do you prove an item was not delivered? 🥵
