amaysim Hits Australia with Another Severe Price Hike

Amaysim 12 month deals are now too expensive to be considered cheap.

First they increased prices to $170 for the cheaper 150GB plan and $220 for the 200GB, but also increased the data amount.

Now, the cheapest plan is $240 for 200GB and the other plan is $300 for 240GB, and they don't even include 5G, instead a 4G 100Mbps cap.

For those who are on the older plans which were much cheaper, it may be better to hold on to those plans as long as possible as even Coles prices have gone up to $195 for only 140GB or $240 for 210GB. Alternatively, move to Catch who still have not increased their prices to these excessively high prices.

  • Disappointing

  • It's surely only a matter of time before Catch up their prices too.

  • My 60gb $120 (which I got 50% off, $60 + $7.50 cashback) ends in late June, used to get end of term offer for $90 may not happen, may be time to start the boost - lebara - boost game.

SingTel Optus in full late stage capitalism mode

Optus shit the bed with the national outage, customers leave and now they raise the prices on their cheapest plans to claw back revenues

    Optus, it starts with no

      it starts with no Optus

Amen to that, your mighty Intel Pentium III overlord.

  • I had a 60GB/365 that cost me $90 back on Black Friday 2022. Fast forward to 2023 and the Optus outage happened, got bonus data, so didn't actually renew the plan and switched to PAYG and was just happily using the bonus data. Then a few days ago I get an offer to renew for another 12mths for $60 for 60GB. Figured this was worthwhile so did it. When the old plan expired I still had 50GB in the bank, well that 50GB is still there so now I have 110GB. This is just a spare old number I have on ice, my main number is Boost so it's nice to have an Optus based SIM if a reverse outage should happen to Boost (don't say it can't happen).

  • Just renewed Amaysim for a year with a special offer of $150 for 230GB, plus international calls - pretty happy with that
