Can I Purchase Other Gift Cards at The Apple Store or Anything Else but Apple Products at The Apple Store?

I recently got given two $20 Apple gift cards from secret Santa.

I don't own Apple products, nor do anyone in my family or close friends group. I would like to at least use them to some capacity. I use Spotify and have my own local storage solution so I don't need iCloud or iTunes or Apple TV as I run a Plex server.

If someone could provide me with any advice on what to do with these cards I'd appreciate it.

Thx :) Merry Christmas.

  • I'd say sell them for a discount in the Classifieds, but you're not eligible to post there.

Are there games you buy in-app purchases for? E.g. I play Pokémon Go, have it on both my Pixel and my iPad, and use both Google Play and Apple Store credit to buy coins

Edit: Scratch the second paragraph. Useless if you don't have an Apple product

    secret santa

    no apple products

Damn your ss did a terrible job unless it was just a regift with zero forks given

    • They put a receipt in the box, I genuinely don't understand why? I guess they don't know you can refund or exchange gift cards?

      • So you know they're activated rather than just 'taking' an Apple gift card from a rack at the supermarket and giving it to you

        • Ahhh, that makes sense thanks! Never thought of that but it makes sense now haha. Worst thing would be for them to get me an unactivated one for sure. Looks like I didn't get the shortest end of the stick

They have some non apple accessories (eg PS5 controllers), but they are all rather exy as you would expect.

    • That's a great idea but yeah unfortunately looks like most things are inflated prices haha

  • Load Hulu plugin into Plex, sign up via iTunes - funded by Apple gift cards ;)

Free Hulu for a few months :P

    • Never thought of this actually wow, could you sign up to any service say Binge?

      • Can pay for a few services via Apple Gift Cards, not sure of the specific ones :/

What's the value of the cards? If high just sell or buy an Apple product and e-bay it. If low use them for secret santa next year or gift them to someone.

    • They're $20, I would regift next year I guess but I thought there was some service or something useful in the short term. Thx anyway

  • Apple gift cards are as good as cash to millions of people.

Even better than cash to the ATO!

    • Do you mean to sell the cards? They're unfortunately both low in value at just $20

Heavy is your burden. You were wise to assemble the OZB brain trust over $40 of Apple gift cards.

        • haha, I might've been a bit dramatic with the wording it's not really a burden. Just wanted to put it to use and maybe get some use out of it for the family or friends. Just thought I'd ask if people had ideas is all :)

          • @Shashii: If I saw someone offering $40 of gift cards in the appropriate sub forum I’d gladly offer them $30 for it. I wouldn’t ask them here though, I’m not being in the penalty box on xmas and new years…

  • Loiter at an Apple store and offer them to someone who is paying for something in exchange for cash? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just buy a usb-c cable or something that will work with your non-apple devices eg https://www.apple.com/au/shop/product/HPS92ZM/A/mophie-usb-c…

    • This was my thought too… See what accessories they have and go from there… Plenty of things that work across Mac and PC

    • This looks perfect to get! I'm not too sure about how many watts it's capable of doing but I'll have a look. Thanks!

  • What a terrible gift for a non Apple person, truly lazy
