Switch MicroSD Card Produces an Error

We just bought a new MicroSD card for the switch and it keeps coming up with Error Code: 2005-0003 when trying to download games. I’ve followed the instructions here which starts to work and then sometime later it fails again?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!

    Where's the microsd from?

    • Bought it on eBay. It’s labelled as a SanDisk one.

        Which seller though?

Sounds like you might have bought a fake

        • Yeah sounds like it must be a fake although I thought it would still work for a little bit. Do you have to buy genuine? It was through howardlight01 and the reviews were good.

          • @bobwokeup: Was it store or individual? Just get from Binglee when there is eBay promo code. Or amazon

@bobwokeup: How the fakes work is they misrepresent the storage amount, so the switch will copy over XX gb of data, then start overwriting it.It might work with only a few files in there depending on the size.

I really try to avoid fakes, but its a pain in the arse and easy to get fakes even for smaller capacities.

@bobwokeup: 95.1% feedback rating is not considered good feedback, especially given the following:

USB sticks were not obviously not San Disk and didn't even fit into the USB port as were not the right shape. Fake items, returned to seller via eBay for a refund.

MicroSD Card was clearly FAKE. Firstly the SD card did not have the expected model numbers etc printed on the back. Secondly it failed when attempting to copy large files. Failed when attempting to format. Also, the price is too cheap for it to be real. The seller is also listing 2TB USB drives for $11, also obviously FAKE. Finally the seller offered to return my money if I first leave a positive review. No thanks. Postage time also terrible.

Fake don't wost your money nor time with thus seller

Fake SD card was sent to me. Contacted the seller and they offered to send another. Not ablnother fake card!

            And to add the obvious:

Member since: 26-Feb-19 in Hong Kong

It's pretty simple to see the red flags and know to avoid the seller.

Go into a local store and just buy a microsd over the counter. Or Amazon, but make sure Amazon AU is the seller

  • Google how to test an sdcard and go from there. Could be a fake, but the lack of info is HUGE.

    • Yeah I’ve done that twice. I get a data error after doing that.
