Coffee Machine Recommendation

Breville Bambino Plus + Sunbeam Precision grinder (already own this grinder) Or Breville Barista express Impress Or Breville Barista Pro

Upgrading from Delonghi Dedica. Want tastier coffee and better milk frothing. Less mess would be nice but not essential. Kitchen is very small, so size is also a factor.

Thanks!

  • I recently bought the express impress, upgrading from the dedica. It's exactly what I wanted, good yet incredibly easy coffee.

IMO the difference is how much time you're willing to put in. Readling this thread I'm very happy with my purchase, because I honestly don't care enough to weigh my coffee, make sure it's tamped correctly, throw out shots if I do something wrong. I did that with my dedica and it just annoyed me. Could I have bought the pro and gotten ever better coffee by putting the effort in? I imagine so. Ignorance is bliss though.

  • +2

    Gaggia Classic or Rancilio Silvia

  • Out of those, I would go with the Bambino Plus. Pretty capable machine for the size and you can keep using your grinder until you want to upgrade that. Depending on your budget, a single boiler 58mm machine could be great too, but it will require some heavier tweaking to dial in your shots. I would stay away from built-in grinders if possible because I would prefer more precision than the ones that come with machines and if they fail you are left with a dead grinder attached to your machine. Having said that, you can still get pretty good results with the Barista express/pro. As the other comment said it depends on how much time are you willing to put in.

  • Thanks, it's looking like the bambino plus is the way to go. Then I can keep my grinder.

    • Just go for the regular bambino
Only get the plus if your too lazy to steam milk yourself

I’ve got a dual boiler at home
Bambino at in laws and pretty impressed with it
