[PC, Steam] Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition $8.98 (Was $29.95) @ Steam

630

As spotted on MyDealZ

Great price on Grand Theft Auto IV. Sure it frequents this price, but always worth the deal post to let someone know about it.

ABOUT THIS GAME

Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebitz, and Luis Lopez all have one thing in common – they live in the worst city in America. Liberty City worships money and status, and is heaven for those who have them and a living nightmare for those who don’t.

Niko is looking to escape his past and make a new life for himself in the land of opportunity. Johnny, a veteran member of The Lost biker gang, is caught in the middle of a vicious turf war with rival gangs for control of the city. Luis, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (a.k.a. “Gay Tony”), is struggling with the competing loyalties of family and friends in a world in which everyone has a price. Their lives cross paths with devastating consequences as they fight to survive in a city torn apart by violence and corruption.

The Complete Edition includes Grand Theft Auto IV and the Episodes – The Lost and Damned & The Ballad of Gay Tony.

Enjoy!

Anyone have an idea of how this actually runs on PC these days? I remember hearing it was a disastrous port

40-60 fps 1080p low on i7-1255U using integrated graphics

Confirmed this last night on my i5-1240p thin and light notebook, works great with the tweaks from the pcgamingwiki link below 👇 (dxvk and fusionfix). Shocking how smooth it is!

A 16 year old xbox 360 game, should run fine on any new gaming pc.

Very well. Runs 60fps on my Steam Deck even - at around 15-20w. So about 2h of usage.

    Much better than the V.

At the very least it had the best driving physics.

I kept hearing that and then I tried it. It really isn't.

Wow really? I don't know anyone that thinks this. It was my least favourite of any of the games since GTA3, I think. I found the story really hard to get into, the incessant phone stuff just really awkward from a gameplay mechanic point of view, and the city felt so limited after all the stuff you could do in San Andreas.

I finished the game and never went back - the only GTA that I didn't bother playing more sandbox-style after I'd finished the main narrative. In fact, after I finished GTA4 I went back and reinstalled San Andreas so I could muck about in that as there was so much more to do!

      I enjoyed GTA5 immensely.

    • The DLCs I can agree on, not so much the main campaign.

Does this have DRM and Rockstar account requirements?

    • Would like to know this too. When running GTA V on the go with the ROG Ally it gives me the sh1ts when it says need to connect to servers.

    • I believe it uses games for windows live (discontinued) so will need an xbox account.

      • +1

GFWL has been removed from the current versions of the game. Only uses rockstar social account.

    • It has both yes.

DRM it has: Rockstar Packer + RGSC

If you want the best out of this game, install fixes mods for some common pc problems. https://youtu.be/UuXVYUGJ45Y?si=te67qsCd7aUW8_HX Also, sometimes this game is stuck on the loading screen for some missions. Make sure you go to settings and set the frame rate to 60 and turn on V sync for it work.
