  • shows $123.18 for me

    • Is $123 the lowest price ?

    • +11

      The “options” are wrong.
      Should be 500gb, 1tb and 2tb.
Deal and price is right. Check the description for correct size.

  • some errors in the title and selection. title saying 1tb but selection says 2tb @$123. similar for the 2tb and 4tb selection @234.

    • +1

There is no 4tb model (currently)
Options are wrong so confirm in the description

      • Also reviews of 4tb show as 2tb in screenshots

  • Ok, how would it end up…?
aiming to get 123$ for 2TB, lol

    • +1

      you’ll get 1TB

    • +1

For light use or storage, you can get the budget NV2 or similar for around this price or cheaper when on sale. That's what I do.

  • I ordered he 4TB for $175.68 but I can see that there's a mismatch between the titles and the options. What's going to happen in this case? Is $175.68 a good price for 2TB no heatsink though?

    • +2

When mine arrived from the November deal, I complained to Amazon via chat and ended up getting them to refund me the difference to what the 2TB price was. So ended up paying ~$125 each :)

      • Thanks mate!

      • Do you use it without a heatsink?

        • +1

My Asus B550i motherboard has a heatsink for it that I use.

      • genius. i was considering doing that back then

  • +8
    • Nice, deal updated

      • 2 for $154 ish is better

    • Nice find. I was looking for similar the day before but couldn't find anything cheap lol.

  • +1

So I've got a PS5 put away for my lads birthday next month, I want to get a SSD but I'm a bit confused around the whole heat sink requirement. Would appreciate a run through.

    • +4

Here's a bit of an explainer

From everything I've read and seen, a heatsink is strongly recommeded for PS5 SSDs. You can either buy an SSD with built-in heatsink, or buy each separately and put it together yourself. I opted for the former for pure convenience and to minimise the chances of me stuffing something up haha.

I went for the Samsung 980 Pro (2TB) as I got an epic deal on it ($143). Another that I see regularly recommended is the Corsair MP600. Apparently there's a "ceiling" in which the PS5 won't be able to use the full capability of some better/faster SSDs, so just make sure you're not paying more for something unnecessarily.

      Hope this helps!

  • +5

Thanks, ordered with the Kool-Aid )ta Laz167) to drop the price for a single unit. Not sure what I need 2TB for, but at that price and quality who can refuse.

  • +5

add this Cherry Drink Mix for $2.93 to activate the Buy 2, Save 12% discount

That really is the cherry on top for this deal.

  • +1

when I add it to my cart, the 2tb is relabeled to 1tb.

  • +1

im confused it seems to be mislabeled, the 4tb is actually 2tb, the 2tb is actually 1tb, the 1tb is actually 500gb.

so there actually is no 4tb?

  • +1

Thanks, ordered with the kool aid. Anyone know how I can transfer my OS to this one when it arrives?

Would it even be worth doing for a samsung 980 pro to this one?

    • I currently have a Lexar NM620 500GB as my OS/gaming drive and want to do this too

    • +1

I'd just add this to a second drive, save the time and the hassle.

    • Literally no noticeable difference in regular use. You’d only do it if you want the larger size.

  • Crucial T500 2TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD with Heatsink - $203.34 …not too sure if this is a good price though.

    • I think that's standard price for 2TB Gen4 SSDs not named WD or Samsung. Could be wrong tho

  • -7

I'm sticking with my Crucial T700 as it is PCIe Gen5.

    • $200 2TB I'm into the Gen5 club

    • +4

My T700 just died after 2 months on some locked read only mode.
I'm only buying Samsung M2 SSD.

Are you flexing, lying or both?

      • Damn LLMs knowing everything we've ever said.

      • +2

The guys at Centrecom convinced me to stick with the T700, so I got a replacement under warranty. Fingers crossed. So far so good after about 3 weeks.

  • "T500 pushes the limits of PCIe 4.0 with speeds up to 7,400 / 7,000 MB/s for sequential reads and writes and 1,180K / 1,440K random read and write IOPS. This falls a little shy of the Samsung 990 Pro" - Tom's Hardware
Yeah, but nah. Not better than 990 pro.

    • that’s not what ‘falling shy of’ means

  • i added the drink but my price didnt drop, anyone know why?

  • glad that i didn't pull the trigger few days ago on the 990 pro 2tb deal

  • +2

I didn't realize you could purchase KoolAid from Amazon. For years I have heard the expression "Drinking the KoolAid", but I have never been blessed to travel to America and experience it firsthand. Now I can without leaving Australia.

Sounds like a great high performance SSD. 2TB should be sufficient for most people (I found 1TB to be a bit constricting).

  • I was charged $178.61 for the drive and the kool aid, did I do something wrong?

    • You add both to cart and if its not showing a discount at checkout its didnt work. ( I'm an amazon prime subscriber .. If that effects it or not who knows :)

I just tried it now and this is what my checkout looked like… working fine for me

      Order Summary
      Items: $180.56
      Delivery: $0.00
      Total: $180.56
      Promotion(s) Applied: -$21.67
      Order Total: $158.89

Cancel your order and try again

      • I don't know I'm a Prime member too. I didn't notice the price at first cause I had a prepaid thing registered on my account.

  • How does this compare to the Samsung 990 or 980?

    • +3

The slightest bit worse than the 990 pro, better than 980 tho. I cancelled my order for the 990pro and got this instead. Only for gaming, they basically the same

    • The only thing i like about Samsung is the SSD software :)… you will never be able to tell the difference in performance even from Gen3 SSD's to Gen4 with the windows and games we have now … once it loads into system memory * DDR4, DDR5 , its all about the CPU and Memory speed's for system snappiness :)

  • This one or 990 pro better?

    For Overall & Stability

  • Options are wrong! I almost canceled my order for a 4TB WD SN850x!

    • +2
      • +1

Why you think I wrote: "Options are wrong"

        • Typical Amazon, you always need to double/triple take deals to ensure they are correct.

          I also ordered a 4TB 850x and the 2TB 990 Pro, and checking to ensure I wasn't being hoodwinked by Amazon. :)

  • I did find this WD 4tb sn850x for $344 posted for prime members - seems like a good deal?!

    WD_BLACK 4TB SN850X NVMe Internal Gaming SSD Solid State Drive - Gen4 PCIe, M.2 2280, Up to 7,300 MB/s - WDS400T2X0E https://a.co/d/7S78Wto

    • $344 US dollars?

    • How does this compare to the Crucial T500? Which one's better?

    • Yeah, 344 USD

      • +5

Nah not a good deal then, been $379 AUD just recently.

  • Is there a heat sink that matches this ssd. I would like to put in ps5

  • Its said "Usually dispatched within 1 to 2 months"

Does anyone know how long it take for Amazon international shipping to Australia ?

  • About a week or less

  • I was waiting for a reputable 2tb for less than 150 since Xmas/boxingday but got tired of it. Now I need to wait until feb! Hope they do early fulfillments

  • Neat deal, bought 3x 2TB @ $154 each

    • Did you receive 3x 2TB?

  • Dang, I just missed the deal. I only need 1 drive but there is no more drink mix to buy.

  • Both Kool Aid flavours expired, updated to Acrylic Paint to activate Buy 2, Save 12%

  • +2

I googled but don't understand. How does the warranty work on these as it's from Amazon US?

  • +1

Seems like a very good deal. Just ordered 2 x 2TB for my NAS, $309. For me the most important thing is longevity, these are rated at 1200TBW, I think that's reasonable.

  • Seems good but would like to confirm, is this good for Legion i7?

  • somehow shows $313.14 for me… price changed?

    edit: for 2 drives

  • I assume the deal is over? Was charged 289.58 for what I thought was a 4tb but received an email confirming my order for a 2tb. I'd love to be paying the original price of 162.89 for a 2tb. Also the paint trick didn't seem to work.

  • Has anyone's order shipped yet?

    • +1

Mine hasn't. Got my Kool aid today though 😅

    • Still not shipped. Any ideas when?

    • It says shipping has been rescheduled. Mine is still in the USA :(

    • I've got expedited international delivery but the t500 and Kool aid haven't shipped yet..

    • Think I might cancel my order

    • Mine still hasn't shipped yet. Kool aid arrived last week though.
Order still says "Arriving 26 Jan - 14 Feb". So I will wait another week.

  • Delivery is tomorrow for me (apparently).

    • Mine still not shipped

      • Mines also not shipped

    • Mine hasn't shipped and the delivery estimate date went from 29th Jan to 2nd Feb

      • Lucky you. My estimate is the 2nd to the 17th of Feb…

  • It shows arriving by this Friday but hasn't shipped yet…

  • +1

I just received my 2x SSDs, they are 1TB instead of 2TB :(

Im going to ask for a refund.

    • +1

      What the heck! That's annoying

      • I suspect it will happen to everyone. Their listing is very misleading.

  • I think everyone knew this was going to happen, but one guy said complain and refund the difference between the sizes

    • +1

I posted twice, both in the top 10 comments explaining they would get the lesser model.
The details are all correct, just the top “model” was wrong. I have argued with Amazon about it before on a different listing and 3 different reps all said the details are correct, they won’t refund/credit or escalate.
Hopefully people here have better luck.

      • +1

If I cancel my order now, would I get a refund?

        • +2

It will tell you when you try and cancel.
You can also return item as “not described” just need to drop off at post office and they will fully refund. No live chat requires.

        • +1

If you try to cancel and you bought another item to get the extra 12% discount then it will say "Your item has not been cancelled - Because this item was part of a multi-item promotion, it cannot be cancelled at this time."
Might have to wait for it to get delivered and then return it.
          Mine still hasn't even shipped.
I bought from the Lexar NM790 4TB as well. That arrived today and I'm already using it. So I will refund the Crucial T500 once it arrives.

          • @SueyJitSu: Thanks, I cancelled my order and got an email that said: We're writing to let you know that your order from Amazon US has been successfully cancelled and you haven't been charged for it.

  • Anyone else receive their ssd. I have just been charged but not shipped.

    Wondering if it us 2 x 1TB drives or 1 x 2TB drive
