  • end up being abour $1 each game on the highest level,

Lets hope GOG keep this kind of promo style up :)

  • +1

If I didn't own so many of them via GoG.com this would be a great deal for me. As it is, I spent $0.99. Just so I can get Shattered Steel.

    -Edit-
The best games are in the higher bracket. I'm thinking though, how many people who are interested in this deal don't own a game or two from this collection?

    • I owned several, but bought the whole pack anyway - you get a gift code for the rest.

      • -1

        Gift codes? Pfft.

    • +2

Just a tip - $0.99 is the minimum you can spend if you use the slider bar.. but if you manually enter in the figure, you can get that down to $0.01. It's only a saving of $0.98, but this is ozbargain :)

      • +1

        Nooooooo!

      • Why would u not want to spend 5-10$ for this pack of games?

It may be Pay Anything you want… But show some support

        • Because maybe someone sad out there doesn't actually want to play the games but at the GoG website they want their shelf to look a little fuller… not sure who'd want to do that though…

    • "If I didn't own so many of them via GoG.com this would be a great deal for me"

that's initially what I thought, but then I was surprised to find that my GOG Interplay collection only amounted to Fallout (which was a freebie) and Redneck Rampage Collection.

Admittedly about a third of the bundle I probably would never play (as the games didn't even interest me 'back in the day'), but there are a lot of WANTS in there that I've just never got around to buying (eg: Giants: Citizen Kabuto (awesomely amazing game), Freespace 1 and 2, the Descent series, of course the Fallout series, Stonekeep, the aforementioned Redneck Rampage collection, Messiah and more).

I'm extremely glad this promo runs for two weeks, as there's no hope in heck of my buying this if it was a weekend only promo. So come payday next week I'll be adding another 32 games to my GOG collection.

      • I already own:
        Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics
        Freespace 1 and 2
        Descent 1 and 2
        Giants Citizen Kabutu
        Sacrifice
        Earthworm Jim 1 and 2
        MDK
        Kingpin
        Messiah
        Jagged Alliance 2

Bloody great games, but for $35 the other games just aren't worth it. For $35, the games I listed are a bargain.

I do have a strange temptation to still buy the full collection as half are on CD's not on GoG.com

  • In the average payment bracket, and giants is a really really fun game.

    • +1

I'm in the $0.01 bracket - helping to bring down the average for everyone else :)

      • +1

I wonder, if you get in early, it might be worth buying several 0.01 packs if each one brings the average down more than 0.01… then buy the average pack.

As the full pack has all the best games though, I suspect many people will get this or the 1c pack.

doesnt say if its on steam :(
i like to have a 1 stop show for downloads

    • +4

GOG != steam. Is not on steam. The advantage is there is no extra software or launchers, just the games.

      • Can you re-download the games later from your account? do they notify you if a games gets a patch or update? (i.e. if they get say Windows 8 / gfx driver compatibility or something)

        • +2

The games sit in your account and you can redownload them later. All these games are so old that there's no possiblity of new patches :)

        • +2

They don't notify you by email, but you do get a notification when signed into gog.com. You can download them as often as you like. The older games are wrapped in virtual machines, so they tend to keep working. For the most part gog does a good job on getting these games working as well as they ever did on modern systems, but in some cases even when new the games had serious issues, and these may not be fixed.

    • This is where we tell Brocky to press Alt-F4 to download from Steam.

  • Of course I want the $35 games! Damn it :)

  • Woah! That's an awful lota good ol' school gamin' to be had right there!

  • +4

I knew Fallout would be top tier. It would be insulting if they were placed anywhere else :)

  • +1

Very tempting if I didn't already have / played almost all of these…

    worth getting just for these:

    JAGGED ALLIANCE 2: UNFINISHED BUSINESS
    FREESPACE + EXPANSION
    LIONHEART: LEGACY OF THE CRUSADER
    FALLOUT
    FALLOUT 2
    FREESPACE 2
    SACRIFICE

    • +2

JA2 is awesome, plus there's free fan mods which can extend the gameplay of it. I've bought all iterations of the JA series except for the most recent one. Didn't like it when I played the demo.

    • +2

SACRIFICE is one of the best games I've ever played> it's from 2002. I don't think there were similar games produced afterwards.

FREESPACE 2 = one of the best space sims - multiple mods around

JAGGED ALLIANCE & FALLOUT are a bit outdated to play them nowadays because you have newer games of the same style. But both were great when first released.

  • +2

They give codes to the games you already have. That's the way it SHOULD be. I'm looking at you, Steam!

    • -2

Because Steam is going to change their behaviour based on a post in an ozbargain thread…

    • +1

Valve frequently do this for their own titles. I suspect it is another case of publishers not letting poeple 'trade' games. Or anything that sounds like it. Or doing anything at all.

  • Wasn't Freespace free at some point?

    • i think it was just the source code.

      • +1

Yep this. The engine is free, the game is not.

        • Freespace 2 was released for free a little while ago.

  • Can someone PM me and gift me Fallout, if they have a free Fallout GOG code, since they got in on this and free one back in April:

    http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/05/fallout-free-on-gog-com-fo…

Might want to get Fallout running on DosBox Turbo on Android…

    • yeah I tried DosBox on an Acer A500 but couldn't get Fallout working (mind you I don't think I tried the GOG version.. I used the files from my CD version with the 1.4(?) patch).

    • Sorry, already given mine away.

  • No black throne ?

  • Noooooi forgot all about this and it ended yesterday. Nooooooooo

  • I am reading this all over again and i am getting the same feeling of Noooooooo nooooooo! Nooooo!

    :L
