I got them from David Jones (in store) for $60 during Boxing day sale. Funny to see the RRP of $189 as it was marked down from $99 to $60 on that day.

    • Any good ? the chopper bowl on my 20 year old sunbeam just died and is no longer available as a replacement part

@freesteakknives:Coming from Panasonic Immersion Blender(750W) which died after 10yrs, I found Braun to be having less grunt despite being 1000W. The one thing which I liked about Braun is the built-in splash guard (Panasonic did not have) which works most of time, especially if you’re using the blender in a bowl. Another advantage is this unit comes with variable speed (1 to 21), so you can keep it low speed (1 to 2) if you want to mash avocado, it will not turn it into mushy paste.
We make soups almost 3 times a week and this one does the job of making creamy pumpkin soup in no time, plus easy to make Mayo too. If you love your smoothies, it will get the job done in no time. Basically, they do the job what they are meant to do.
I almost use the blender every day, as I mentioned before, my Panasonic (Made in Japan) lasted 10yrs, I am hopeful that the Braun (Made in China) to last at least 5yrs. Haha!

        • Thanks SteveD. I use the chopper the most for making asian pastes like laksa and then the blender for soups. If I could get another chopper bowl I would as everything else still works fine. Mine only has two speeds so my choices are simple :-)

          • @freesteakknives: You could try via Facebook marketplace or hard rubbish type groups to find the bowl on it's own

          • @freesteakknives: I forgot to mention, this comes with chopper bowl, I have chopped almost everything from nuts to onions, celery, galangal, turmeric, ginger, tomato and so on. Your are right about speed setting, my panasonic had 2 speeds, here I am spoilt for choice.

  • Im completrly noob kitcheb person. Is this a good food processor? I want to amke some protein balls lol. And then maybe will be used to make puree for baby later on.

    • I think the food processor bowl is too small for most uses. It's only 500ml and you can't fill it up because it would overflow. I think it's better to think of this as a stick blender that has a couple of attachments that you probably won't use that much, but might come in handy very occasionally. I've got a similar Breville version of the model up from this and the food processor bowl is 1.5L and much more useful. I do occasionally cook for more people than just me and my gf and wish I had one of the proper big food processors, but it does the job for 90% of the time.

      The model up.

      Here's the one I've got

Now, all that said, I only got my one because it was given to us, and if it was up to me I'd get a proper full size food processor and a separate stick blender. These things are flimsy and difficult to use because they aren't sturdy enough to sit still without you holding them. You also knock them over all the time. One of these days I'll crack and buy a second hand food processor off fb market place and give mine to an op shop.

  • i bought the target hand mixer in the recent post. used the whipper 3 times before the spring snapped, flew out and made a mess. back it goes.

  • Thanks, grabbed one from Amazon

  • Well that's good timing!

Went to make a dressing for dinner last night with my blender. It wouldn't work. Damnit. Okay, I guess I can use my NutriBullet, not as convenient, but would still work. Nope, couldn't find the cup or blade for it. Righto, I guess I can use my stick blender. Oh, no, that's right, I threw that out because it broke. :|

Purchased. I'll be ready for next time.
