VPN recommendations for one week

Hey all

Looking for recommendations for a short term VPN as I will be outside Australia for a week, however would like to login to my devices and servers using an Australian VPN and also for my business continuity purposes. Any recommendations for a desktop VPN which doesn't compromise speed too much. Trial or free would be nice, but can pay subscription as well.

Thanks

  • Mullvad VPN? Only 5 euros a month (equivalent to $8.11)

    • Thanks, does it slows down much for zoom calls etc ?

Your connection speeds to the VPN servers are going to be very dependant on the carrier you are using (ISP) and what kind of connection, like is it mobile broadband, public wifi in a Cafe or a hotel room.

Tailscale - and use one of your servers as an exit node?

"business continuity purposes" - does it means faking "work location"? If so, depending how good is the IT Team, they can figure out you are using a VPN service. :(

    • The very easy workaround is to keep the work-issued PC powered up at home and remote desktop into it and do your work entirely through RDP

you can't do ZOOM like that :)

If the ZOOM account is personal, I don't think he needs to use VPN.

If the ZOOM account is company, it can tracks IP, that why he needs VPN. But VPN Gateway is easy to monitor…..
