ING Orange Every Day Not Working with All Direct Debits?

Hey all.
Have recently found out my ING Orange Everyday card is not able to work with 1 direct debit in particular..

I've signed up to a gym that requires me to enter 'branch name/number'. Without having this she was unable to enter the form properly. We tried a few but were unable to confirm if it was correct or not until my first payment bounced a few days back.

I haven't spoken to ING support yet though have found no help on their FAQ or through my online searches.

Had anyone found a workaround for this? ING I'd currently my only bank and I got a good deal through direct debit at the gym…

Thanks for any help!

Check that the Direct Debit has the BSB and Account Numbers correct and that they aren't transposed or with the wrong numbers or a number missing.
Obviously there need to be available cleared funds.
Maybe it just takes a bit of time for to process your Direct Debit authority.

This doesent seem to be the case unfortunately…

Apparently she gym worker has had this issue come up before and advised to use a different card (which i dont have).
Both BSB, Account number and funds are fine..
I dont remember the last time i have had to complete a DD form that asks for branch details- though i might be considered a bit 'disconnected'

Make sure its the BSB and acct number for your everyday account, you cant direct debit from savings maximiser accounts.

It might be their system is doing some kind of BSB check? In the case of ING, the BSB is always 923-100 (assuming it's a transactional account, they do have a couple of others) and the branch name is "ING Direct".

Branch number is probably 100 (it's meant to be first two digits bank, third one state, last three branch. Dunno why ING uses 3 for the state though, as they're Sydney based), it might be 3100.

  • If you do a lookup on the BSB number, you can get the branch details.

For 923-100: (most common BSB they seem to give):

    • Branch Name: ING Direct
    • Branch Address: Level 28, 60 Margaret Street, Sydney, NSW 2000

There are also other sites which will do the lookup too.

I've signed up to a gym

ING possibly doing you a favour.

  • Anytime I had inquiry on Ing, I called Ing, and Ing resolved the issue promptly.

I advise, call Ing if the Trust here do not resolve your issues.
