Some seemingly decent deals on some quality camera straps. Bought one of each yesterday (albeit with a price match at JB via online support) and am pretty happy with them. Lifetime warranty as well according to one of the packaging inserts.

I'm so glad I still have a thousand Wii remote wrist straps.

    • +3

Yes I concur, so glad I could use my mirrorless like a Wii remote.

That’s genius. Gonna hook one up to my Sony a6000

Usually get my stock from Rushfaster https://rushfaster.com.au/collections/peak-design

I'd never heard of them which is why I omitted them. Guess they're legit?

      • +1

Rushfaster is legit. Awesome support especially after sales.

      • Rushfaster are definitely legit, they always have good prices of Peak Design stuff.

      • Definately legit - got a few things from them. Support is awesome..helped me with a warranty claim recently even though it was marginally my fault in not maintaining it properly.

    • Another happy Rushfaster customer here. Can't recommend them enough - fantastic support before, during and after an order has been placed.

Honestly still seems like a lot for a little, and I am admittedly a fan of straps myself.
I have used the Joby convertible strap for half the price on my last 4 cameras and it's great:

part of the reason you buy into peak design is their anchor system. Super quick to remove or swap whichever strap you've got on. I move between the cuff and the leash all the time. Also have the slide for when I lug around the big zoom.

      • I'd say for most that's the only reason you buy these. I can never decide so I always end up taking both.

I'm a huge fan of the quick release on my Peak Design leash. Been using it for years. Nice and easy moving between setups. $58 to sling a multi-thousand dollar rig doesn't really seem like that bad a deal to me?

  • unable to use their $10 and $20 coupon, bad

    • Orders over 100$

  • what about Smallrig's version of the leash for $5 less? (worth mentioning this seems to be regular price and might be worth waiting round for a coupon if you are in no rush)
    https://www.amazon.com.au/SmallRig-Camera-Shoulder-Strap-PSC…

it even comes with 2 extra pucks.

I have some Smallrig stuff their quality is top notch it's unexpected especially for the price.

Can't comment on theirs, I just know Peak Design seems to be favoured by many photographers. I liked the general look and concept behind them and just wanted a decent upgrade on the strap that came with my camera. Helps I could buy locally and, like others have said, can easily interchange straps due to the universal anchors

"I just know Peak Design seems to be favoured by many photographers."

yeah tbh not saying their products aren't anything special. but "Peak Design" just has that image to it like they sell and get many sponsors because of their powerful brand name.

"like others have said, can easily interchange straps due to the universal anchors"

I see so if you already have Peak design gear it makes sense to keep things compatible.

    • The peak design ones are reversible so it doesn't matter which way the pucks go into the strap. This makes it way easier to use. I have the small rig one and it's good but because the strap and puck only work in one direction I'd go with the peak design ones if I had to buy again.

      • great comment. thanks that is some good info from someone who has tried both.

  • Wow just like the leash my wife's boyfriend makes me wear when he comes over! Thanks OP :D

    • +4

You guys must appreciate the lifetime warranty ❤️

    • a leash for you when your wife's BF comes over makes more sense than a "leash" for a camera tho lol.

OH just what I needed! a LEASH for my CAMERA.

    • bro committed seppuku by words

  • I bought the midnight color for 52$ from eBay, I like it but sometimes you have to go cuff-free lol

  • Love my aliexpress versions

  • very happy with my Gordy’s strap if anyone is looking for an alternative

no quick release but it’s handmade with a bit more personality

    • +1

highly recommend Gordy’s, though unfortunately no more free delivery, and prices have risen from $US18 to $US24

for a more affordable handmade original, Cordys are £6.95 (£9.50 delivery)

and the general alternative to Peak Design is BlackRapid

  • the cuff is tempting for sure but i think it's bigger than my Fuji X70

    • My girlfriend just got herself one for her Olympus EPL3. I'm sure your Fuji will be fine size-wise

      • wait, i've forgotten that it's easily removable lol, and i own a Peak Design leash myself.

  • PS. use the $10 sign up voucher (by asking customer support), got the leash for $34 in the end.

    • How did this work? Sign up voucher has a minimum spend of $100, and the leash is $58. Did you mean $34 for the wrist cuff?

  • Silly me but how is the Wrist Cuff used? I would think most cameras but the very smallest ones would be very heavy to wrap on your wrist?

    • Have you used mirrorless cameras before?

Most cameras are relatively small and light these days. The wrist cuff lets you move your camera around more freely than if you were restricted to the neck strap most come with by default, but with the benefit of not smashing into the ground were you to lose control of it or get bumped.
