You need to define what "best" means to you. CPU? GPU priority? Screen specs? Size/weight? Battery life? Warranty? Aesthetics? What's important to you…

    • good point, I don't really do much gaming, this is really for general use and likely learning to code stuff like Java, Python, database programming, UI development etc. So needs a bit of grunt without running to hot.
My last laptop was an XPS 15 bought way back in 2018, it came with 4K touch screen. Basically the top end spec 9560, this one with 32GB memory and 1TB SSD

It runs really hot though just doing basic stuff. I dont need the bling, just needs to do stuff without costing an arm and a leg. I do like the Macbook air, but even the M1 8GB 256 SSD is still like 1499. The processor in this lenovo is pretty decent by the looks of things.

Are you iOS or Android? That might help you decide

        • I don't mind either, but my current phone is android

@grantster: I really enjoy the continuity features across iPhone, desktop/notebook. iPad, watch & TV. Which you don't get with Android + Windows… not that there's anything wrong with that.

one you find the one you like, ask Lenovo chat to make it cheaper. they usually do

  • they dont want to make it any cheaper, I asked haha.

however, the more I am looking, the more I am thinking this Mac M1 2020 will still outperform this Lenovo spec. $1287 isnt bad, Costco had the M2 chip version of the air on sale briefly for $1599

I say go for it buddy you got nothing to lose with this winner

  • Kicking myself for not taking this deal, but one thing lenovo and dell laptops are terrible for, is battery life. Work issued me with a mac and the battery life and performance is incredible. So i think my biggest 2 must important things is battery life and processing performance for programming. I still haven't bought anything. Anyone got anything they could possibly recommend?
