    Long running deal isn’t it?

    • -2

The last deal from 2011 required members to pay for kids to be admitted. Afaik this one is a new initiative by VIC gov for school holidays.

This policy is the result of a Victorian Government initiative. Refer to the relevant Victorian Government website for updated information on gazetted school holiday dates and public holiday dates.

      • My wife said this is long running deal.

      • My kids have entered for free since we started going in 2020, i thought this was standard pricing for them

    • How come zoo.org.au only takes you to Victoria zoos, and ignores the rest of Australia?

  • @ Australia Zoo

    Nope that's in Qld.

I assume it's just a continuation of the Baillieu govt announcement that kicked in 1 July 2011?

Or did Dan take that away in the past few years?

  • Is Werribee Open Range Zoo where you drive around in your car and the lions and such come right up to the car? Or am I thinking of something else?

    • Yeh nah

No, it's a open bus tour kind of thing.

No predators on the 'safari' section but it's a good day out.

      • Ok, I've been to a place called Lion Country Safari in the USA (Florida) where you do that. Do they have any places like that in Australia?

  • Yes this is a good deal, but it is also very crowded on these days - sometimes to the point of detracting from the experience, and in the worst case it's just not worth it to go and can be a major challenge just to get parking.

If you're a zoo member, do what you can to enter on the other days, you'll have a much more enjoyable experience.

    • If you are worried about crowds on weekends/ public holidays, go on rainy days. It’s not the best experience but I had the whole Werribee safari bus carriage to myself!
And 100% on the membership. Its 100% worth it!

  • Accompanied by Paying Adult

thought my new born would finally do something to the family…

they should at least do 1 free adult entry per child 😉
