Can I Use Two Asus RT-AX82U V2 AX-5400 Routers for Full Mesh Coverage of a 450m² Two Storey House?

Hi everyone,

My parents recently got 1000/50 Superloop FTTP installed in our house and we are in need of a mesh system that will cover it. I've been told that ASUS routers can speak to each other through their AI Mesh software, so was wondering whether these are a good option?

I've been given a budget of $1000. If there is any better options please let me know.

FYI, there is only double layered brick in the garage on the bottom floor, which is not really important as no one goes in there much. The rest of the house is gyprock and wood.

Edit: Decided on the "ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Ai Mesh AX6600 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6 System [2 Pack] (Black)"

Sorry not sure whether AiMesh can cover your property. However if you have $1000 budget, ASUS RT-AX86U Pro would be a much better choice than RT-AX82U — newer hardware, faster CPU, double the RAM, etc. One of ozbargainers' favourite WiFi router.

  • I just bought a Asus RT-AX1800c reduced from $160 down to $99 at JW computers.
While this is probably not suitable for you JW Computers do have some quite competitive pricing on Ausus routers at present.
Have a look for comparison for when you are shopping around.

I have no connection to JW computes except this one purchase.
