  • Yes I think you can take the mower on a checked-in baggage and not sure about batteries as not sure about the wh of those but you should take the batteries in carry on baggage if under allowed rating.

    • looks like the batteries are under 100Wh so you can take the batteries in carry-on baggage.

      • 18v4ah= 72 Wh for single battery
        72
2= 144 Wh for both batteries

Yes but i think the 100Wh limit for one battery and can take two as far as I know. But I may be wrong.

Virgin allow up to 20 loose (uninstalled) batteries Under 100Wh in carry-on baggage so OP will be fine

First check if that box is allowed to be checkedin. AFAIK, thats a huge box and might not fit carrier luggage recommendations. If it fits, then the batteries have to be removed and carried in carry on luggage.

    • Thanks will check the size of the box :)
I am still assessing if it is good idea or not

The lawnmower 145aud with 2 batteries 18v , I see it as good bargain but I need to calculate how much transporting it will cost me

I wonder how much extra Virgin will charge for that?

A true OzBargainer would push the mower from Perth to Melbourne. You could even mow lawns along the way and make extra money.

Quite a dedication to a bargain to fly to WA for it! :p

  • Assuming you can check in the mower (however you choose to pack that), the batteries will be fine. I've taken 3 x 4ah Ozito batteries carry on with both Jetstar and Virgin and had no issues. Airport security will want you to take them out of your bag at screening time though, similar to a laptop.
