Hi guys…I just started my new job so we had to cancel our holiday plans. Does anyone know any domestic holiday destinations within 4-5hrs of Sydney that isn't too expensive? plan to spend 2 nights but it's Christmas so it'll be so expensive!

Maybe look inland rather than coastal.
Canberra? It'll be quiet due to Parliament being out and therefore should have bargains on hotels.

It will be, but also this will depend on which days you have off over that period.
Picking destinations that might be more business focused in normal times might be the go.
You dont indicate how you wish to travel, Car plane rail?
Like Voteoften's idea of Canberra, my thoughts would be a hotel in a non resort area, as the resorts will probably be booked up with weekly bookings. Try Rates to go, Hotel club, wotif etc, sites where you can see rates a few months in advance.
However again depending on which days (like Xmas/Boxing day) a non resort town might not have much open to look around.
