Australia Post - Can I Change Which LPO They Deliver to

I have just moved into my new area in moonee ponds 3039 and the local post office is closed on weekends and is a nightmare to get to on days off
the one up the road, ascot vale is open on weekend mornings which means I can pop in to pick it up

The question is: can i request to have my undelivered parcels sent to this LPO? anyone done this or know steps to do so?

Australia Post- Can I change which LPO they deliver to

    Have you tried asking them?

You can request the items to be transferred here…

You can request the items to be transferred

You forgot to say there is a transfer fee of $7.05.

      • I never said it was free.

        • and you never said it wasn't free either. Which was the point.

          • @JimmyF:

and you never said it wasn't free either.

All the details are in the link.

Do you have a MyPost account online? During delivery (depending how far the parcel is from its destination) you can re-direct it to another address. I can't test it but I think I remember seeing a post office for one of the options.

Failing that, grab yourself a parcel locker. I love having the option to collect 24/7. Granted it's not a perfect solution but it's better than nothing!

    ok thanks guys
for future reference- i did do some research and looks like i have to use the address at point of purchase and have it sent to either a parcel locker or to the LPO i wanted.
That makes it much easier moving forwards

    Thanks all

with the my post app you can send the parcels to an address instead of your home one- i will do this for future reference

You can purchase a PO box at the one you want, and have the parcels delivered to the PO box.

That's about the only option you got.

use parcel collect address. its free.

  • Can't you use a parcel locker for the address?

Register for a parcel locker and parcel collect for that post office, it's free. Download the Aust Post app and register both parcel locker and collect.

I live in a unit and I get all my parcels sent to my parcel locker. The unfortunate side of it is that if the website don't state they use startrack or australia post, I have to message them to see if they use them and send it to my parcel locker address.

  • I have the same issue. The default PO that Auspost send my parcels to is not convenient and there are several other P/Os which are much closer to me. I have had a lot of trouble with my parcels not being delivered and instead held straight at P/O for me to collect.

I have a couple of parcel collect addresses. The problem is that if I use parcel collect there is no chance of it being delivered to my home which I would prefer. Also a number of places don't ship to parcel collect addresses.

Alternatively, I can put my home address for delivery and then when the parcel is in transit, redirect it to my parcel collect address. However, this option is not available for all parcels and doing so adds at least one day to the delivery time. I have yet to find the perfect solution. It would be good if you could select a default P/O that your parcels are carded to if not delivered.
