Help Me Choose Pressure Washer

I am moving to new place and in need of pressure washer.

I want to use it for driveway and patio along with car washing. May be will use 2-3 times a month.

I read through quite a number of posts here and in other forums, but not sure which one to pick and still confused.

I decided to get Gerni ( 5300 or 7000) or Karcher ( K4 or K5) because they are under my budget ( $ 500). Can someone help me choose which brand and model suits best to my needs. I am going to get it from Bunnings.

I tried ozito at friend home( not sure model), but it doesn't look strong .

Thanks.

Hey! I was exactly in the same spot as you a year ago. I was trying to decide between all of the different brands and models. In the end I got a Gerni 7000 and have been extremely happy with it for washing my car and cleaning pavers. Hope that helps! Happy pressure washing :-)

    • Same. Long hose, high flow rate, good for washing cars. Also has a long warranty.

I would say Gerni if you are using it 3 times a month. I guess it comes with a patio cleaner attachment as well. I have an ozito and happy with it, but I dont use it as often and plenty enough for my needs.

Gerni 7000 because it has the longest hose (10m). The biggest pain with these is having to move them around (like with a vacuum cleaner). The one with the longest hose gives you the best flexibility eg you can probably do the whole car without needing to move it. Admittedly a few of the others have 8m hoses, which is pretty good. The K4 I think is only 6m, avoid that. That said, both Gerni and Karcher sell extension hoses, which you can add to the existing hose - the Gerni one (7m) is only $50; the Karcher one is 10m but is $115; so you could get a cheaper model and also an extension hose (havent done the math as to whether thats worthwhile vs just get a better one to start with).

They will all do the job perfectly fine, they are all powerful enough and you dont really need that much power anyway for your tasks (I borrow my parent's K2 and its totally fine for car washing and patio cleaning - not quite enough for paint / decking stripping, but you arent doing that). Too much power is dangerous / will damage things.

So get the one that is the easiest to use. Any of them are fine.

I have the Gerni 5300. Use it for washing the bike; will use it soon for the car and driveway. Haven't used any others so can't comment on any comparisons; however one of my decisions to buy was based on the internal pump: apparently Gerni is aluminium whilst Karcher is plastic.

    Other reasons for the 5300:
    - no flimsy hose reel
    - braided no kink hose
    - hose is 9m long
    - solid/heavy at 18kg so won't topple over
    - longer warranty (5y included+2y extra via online registration)

Re: Gerni extra warranty, if you want the extra 2y you have to register online within 90d of purchase!!!

I got the 5300 as well as it was the cheapest brushless motor they offer. I thrash it and needed something that can go for a long stretch and not complain.

Nice one, I didn't know this.

Also have the Gerni 5300 for washing the car and cleaning the deck. Deck cleaning attachment is OK, but prefer the wavy head. Hose is great, but a little annoying to coil and uncoil. The hose reel of the 7000 would have been great but I didn't think it was worth the extra cost. I swapped the standard head for a short gun for cleaning the car and ease of switching nozzles. It does make a slight 'squeek' when you take the finger off the trigger lol. Much better than the Karcher K2 it replaced.
