Foxtel Telstra Bundle, Who's Responsible for The Landline Phone?

I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue for someone even less knowledgable than me- lol. He's been with Telstra since forever and has a Bigpond acct/email. At some point "someone" (too long ago to recall details) either sent a letter or rang to ask if he'd like to "bundle" Foxtel and get their hub & it would all come under one charge per month. Since he'd been with Telstra and had Foxtel thru Telstra, I'm thinking that Foxtel switched him, yet he has continued to have access to his Bigpond.com email acct.

A couple of days ago, the landline phone stopped working. He says it's plugged into the hub, and he said his internet is on and all of the hub lights are green, yet there's no landline (no dialtone at all). I had him do a powercycle on the hub, but that didn't do anything. I remoted in using Anydesk and there's no phone settings in that hub. I'm trying not to have to drive there because I have no knowledge about Foxtel & he's tried ringing Telstra who told him they didn't show him ever having an acct with them!? (Typical Helstra).

The phones can wait as he & his wife have mobiles, but he needs access to his email. There's def something wrong with the Telstra email settings because I couldn't log into webmail with his saved PW.

Does anyone here know much about Foxtel/Telstra bundles or any idea who's actually the one to ring? I said I'd ring if necessary, but who?

Thanks for reading,

:)

Ring Telstra & ask to speak to Nasi Goreng if he’s not busy keeping the rabbits out

Telstra Foxtel bundles are managed by Telstra, so should all be on their side.

  • Is your friend using a Foxtel hub for the phone line? I believe there were some changes made recently where they would either need to plug their phone in to another port if they have the Foxtel hub 2 or 3

  • Foxtel Telstra Bundle, Who's Responsible for The Landline Phone?

    whoever bills you

  • If the whole service is a Telstra bundle with Foxtel included then Telstra is your retailer and your point to call, if you had a Foxtel fault they may then switch you through to Foxtel. If he calls/chats with them have an account number for the service ready, its on a bill, or quote the fixed phone number. If he cant find this go into a store and sit with them to at least try and find the service.
Telstra is responsible to make sure the full service works but their boundary is on the network side of the router.
Maybe try a factory reset on the router, usually a small button on the back you push in and hold with a pen tip.
