$69/month JB plan 120gb $600 voucher port question

So I asked about the plan in store and i wad told that you can only get this deal if you have a number from a different provider than Telstra. My question is, if I port to Optus and then port back to the jb hi deal. Will that be flagged as having been with Telstra before and thus not being eligible for the deal? I am currently on a JB plan deal from last year. The guy said that I won’t be able to get the deal if I port out of telstra and back. I just wanted to check if that wad true or not.

    you need to be with another provider for 30 days. No boost, telstra, jb, good guys.

    You can always get a new number, then change your number to your current number later?

      The 30 Day rule isn't actually a thing, they just say it to deter people already on Telstra from porting out and back in again.

      Unless you get an extremely anal sales rep at JB who for some reason is checking on your previous account status, it won't be an issue

        can't find anything in their terms and conditions or claus about the 30 day rule.
