Thanks! Have also disabled 5G from my phone to prevent getting infected with COVID

    • Thanks for the comments - I did a little research/googling (…not sure if the quotes below apply to reusable plastic bottles though).

A recently released study developed a new optical imaging technique for analysis of nanoplastics with unprecedented sensitivity and specificity.

"By using this new technique, they examined and analyzed store-bought water in plastic bottles, leading to the upsetting discovery that one liter of bottled water had an average number of 240,000 teeny tiny plastic bits swimming in it. That's a lot more plastic than what a previous 2018 study had suggested, which had found an average of 10.4 plastic particles in a liter of water."

“We do know that they are getting into the tissues (of mammals, including people) … and the current research is looking at what they’re doing in the cells.”
"Infants and young children may face the greatest risks, as their developing brains …"

    • Do you every drink alcohol from a tap at a bar/pub? The hoses from the keg are plastic.

Most modern homes use plastic piping for water instead of copper.

Most aluminium cans are coated on the inside.

Your trip on avoiding plastic is futile

We changed to Thermos stainless steel bottles to reduce plastic risks but still has a plastic straw and silicone gasket.

These bottles are amazing, and way better than the camelback alternative. My issue is, I got a bunch for this price for my son, but I need the pink ones now and they seem to never go on special.

Don't think kids mind colour too much, you could always try the shark one

The tantrums i have endured around the wrong coloured bottles would suggest otherwise.

        • Sorry to hear. I literally got the shark one for my daughter and she loves it. Obvs each kid is different, but what I found worked for me is I started making sharks a fun thing with chasing games for a week, then when she was given the new bottle, she loved it. If I'd have just given it to her straight up, she'd have been resistant.

  • Just a reminder that the lids on these will need to be regularly taken apart and cleaned thoroughly otherwise it will get mouldy.
They use a triangle shaped screw head but you can unscrew it with a well fitting flat head.
It needs a bit of force to undo.
