Does anyone has any feedback on Lenovo Yoga 7i EVO 14" Touchscreen i5 16GB 512GB 2-in-1 Laptop?
Model: 82YL001LAU

Keen to buy one as BYOD for high school child but read somewhere some screen/blurry issue.

Spoken with guy at officework who didn’t know anything like this.

My daughter wants 2 in 1 laptop with pen so looking to buy this.

Please any help would be appreciated.

  • You really think an employee at Officeworks is going to tell you the problems with a product they sell ?

I got this laptop a month or two ago with ryzen7 instead of i5. I'm very happy with its build quality and screen. If yours has the 2k OLED touchscreen too, I also saw reviews about what some people described as a 'flyscreen' effect but i didn't notice anything of the sort. Sharp and vivid colours, really happy with it. I got a really good cyber weekend deal direct from lenovo with 200 back cash rewards. Absolute steal!

    • Would you mind tell me the price you paid?

    $1307 before 200 cashreward cashback. Specs: 14" yoga 7 gen 8, AMD r7, 16gb ram, upgrade to 1tb ssd. Display 14" WUXGA (1920 x 1200), OLED, Glare, Touch, HDR 500, 100%DCI-P3, 400 nits, 60Hz.

    Edit: typo on ssd

Bought this model few months ago from OW. The laptop is ok with a decent OLED touch screen. It's a little on the heavy side around 1.45kg. The fan on this laptop runs pretty much most of time and the battery life is a little disappointing for a 72Wh unit. Can only manage around 6-7 hrs unless just using it for reading and not doing much.

  • Got the previous generation of this laptop about 1.5 years ago for ~$1.4k. They didn't really change much this generation except for upgrading internals, and I'm pretty happy to say that mine is holding up well and the build quality has been really solid. Should definitely perform well enough for schoolwork, and the tablet functionality is fairly implemented and nice to have for school tasks (saved me a bunch of paper for some of my uni courses). You could consider getting the AMD variant instead directly from Lenovo (link here), which is cheaper at $1250 and probably a better device too, since AMD laptops performs better and more efficiently than Intel's (generally speaking) at the moment.

Edit: no particular issues with screen blurriness, it is a little dim in direct light though ):
