What Has Happened to All The Boost Cashback?

It seemed like towards the end of last year there were so many Boost “free” sims with both CR and SB.

Unless I am mistaken, there is nothing around at the moment. So I was just wondering if anyone knows a reason for that?

Last deal was like month ago?

  • Nothing AFAICT. December probably has a higher density of sales.

All the bait had been eaten,
plenty of rats waiting for more.

You are not always entitled to freebies.

They likely got sick of people messaging their Live Support and Contact Us asking why they're getting 'Something Went Wrong' messages and people asking Live Chat to activate their sims since some people (including myself) were receiving error's whenever they tried to activate their own sims.

It was good while it lasted.

I'm glad I was able to take part in it, basically got me a year of free 4G internet by utilising my 4G Router, not to mention the cashback.
I'm sad that I now have to pay for 4G internet hahahha.

    • Have you already done the 3 month sim from cba/more telecom? Thats my next port of call

    • No, it may be back. There was no freebie in the entire July last year.

  • They get us hooked and now jack up the price.

    • You can always switch to a cheaper provider.

I couldn't even manage to get an order to go through on their website using my or my wife's (never been a boost customer before) details.

  • Anyone else have the app show no services in their account?

  • I was waiting for my usual Boost deal to port over from Lebara. I might need to get a Kogan 10GB starter SIM for $5 (https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-mobile-prepaid-voucher-co…).

  • Where are all the sim hoppers going to go to now? For me it will looks like the $5 Kogan deal. After that, to Lebara and from there not sure what to do. Hope Boost deals will be back or else might have to look for a cheap 12 month plan.

  • It is more likely to come around once Boost has a sale.

Most telco's have network embargo's somewhere between Christmas and Australia Day. New signups are always welcome but it is unusual to see marketing teams encourage unnecessary large waves of traffic while engineers are restricted to what they can do to the network during the embargo. That and I am sure both engineers and marketing are short staffed while several are on leave during the embargo.

That said, these "Saving for Tesla" deals are a bit ridiculous and have exceeded logic. There are more and more people all the time buying 40 sims. tracking them in spreadsheets and making hundreds of dollars per deal. Boost really need to make their sims either free or low cost for the first month like Lebara to stop these "for profit" orders. If Boost marketing think for profit sims are necessary, they should be restricting redemptions to 1 per person/ID.

The irony here is I was a very happy Boost customer paying $150/yr over a 4-5 year period. When they raised prices to pay for these for-profit deals, I started looking elsewhere. Now I sim hop and Boost have paid for me to have a free service for the last couple of years. If they go back to reasonably priced yearly plans, I will go there, but while they stay the course, I will continue getting freee mobile service from Boost.

  • Merged from No more Boost Cards?

What am I going to do for data? I don't even care about he profit. Free data was great. Is this the end of it? what's my next best option for plenty of data at not much.
    THanks.

Have I missed something? Whats changing/happened?

No free/profit deals from Boost/cashback since 02/01/24. Could just be a new years blackout period though, happens with a lot of big companies with IT implementation.

        • Hope you are right but 6 Boost Mobile deals were posted in Jan 2023.

We are now decently into February and cashbacks for purchases made in November last year have not been paid out by Cashrewards (still Pending) so it definitely looks like Boost are no longer playing ball.

    • What happens if the affiliate partner is now insolvent?

Do we still get our money, is cashrewards going to step in and pay out? Or would we have got ozbargained?

      • +1

Boost is not insolvent. Cashback period is officially 90 days it's just that Boost used to approve approx 60 days with Cashrewards as they had a good relationship. It just seems that Boost no longer pushing that barrow for free/profit deals.

        • Boost doesn't pay cashrewards directly as far as I aware of how it works at other companies. It's all palmed off to a third party. If that third party is insolvent, you won't be getting any cashback.

    • +1

Yep, december cashback on SB is overdue now, and on CR not approved within 60 days yet

    • My cashback from Nov 25th has been approved, no issues with withdrawing it. It's sad to see my balance down to 0. I'm hopeful boost deals might start up again, but it doesn't look good :(

      Is Shopback reliable for cashbacks?
