Bathroom Renovation Company Recommendations Sydney

Hey guys,

Waterproofing in the bathroom is compromised and looking at a full bathroom do over. I'm not up to the task of DIY so will be looking for a company to fully manage the project for a ~4sqm bathroom. Does anyone have any reccomendations?

Also if anyone has done one before how much did it cost and how long did it take?

Cheers

    Wow that is TINY bathroom

I have used "Super cheap bathroom and kitchen renovations" a year or so back, and he is pretty great (and trustworthy which is important!). I think it cost me $15k to do my bathroom of 8m2, that includes the paint/fittings/tiles/cabinet etc

    • The toilet and bathroom is separate so it's more like 5-6sqm altogether. How long did the reno for the bathroom take? Was it just one guy?

        1 guy. Maybe 10-14 days?

Theres a minimum duration it can take remember. Waterproofing has to dry, then another coat, then tiling, then grouting. All has to set before they can start the next step

        He worked weekends too

        • Damn all the work done by one guy is insane since there's electrical and plumbing, demo and rendering/gyprock. 10-14days is a fast effort.

          • @POSITIVEVIBESONLY: They didn't specify if this guy did plumbing/electrical work, that may be seperate which would be additional costs because you need qualified plumbers and electricians. Even if a guy says he can do it, unless he's certified, the works will be void with any insurance claims :)

            • @coffeeinmyveins: He didn't do electrical, because there wasn't any to do. We kept the same light fitting, and there's only a powerpoint on the wall which stayed put.

He is a trade qualified builder, because he showed me the licence. As for exactly what is covered by that qualification, i'm not 100% sure to be honest (there's a whole story about why the insurance claim part doesn't matter to me, but TLDR; in a strata-titled apartment, most/all insurers wll not offer building insurance to you personally, and hence you're not covered for slow leak of water from things like leaking shower, which is what lead to the reno).

He did the plumbing, used a guy for waterproofing i think. I don't quite remember to be honest

. I'm not up to the task of DIY

Nor should you be. This would also void any home insurance claims if you did it yourself btw.

Also if anyone has done one before how much did it cost and how long did it take?

How long's a piece of string. Depends what you're getting done, and how expensive the materials are you want. I would expect anywhere from $15k-$25k for that size bathroom.

    • Thanks that's what I was expecting, hopefully the quotes come back to be like that.
