What to Use a $120 Harvey Norman Gift Card on? (Expiring Soon)

I have a Harvey Norman gift card worth $120 that's expiring in a few days. I skimmed through their site and couldn't really find anything to use it on. The only thing that caught my eye was the first gen Apple pencil for my old iPad. I don't mind paying a few dollars extra if it's something worth buying. But GOSH everything seems so overpriced that I can't seem to get myself to buy anything even if it's with a gift card.

Any ideas? Something that wouldn't feel like a completely unnecessary and overpriced waste?

Edit: Despite price match, I still don't know what to spend it on. Nothing particularly jumps out at me. Maybe something you don't know how useful it is until you get it (if that makes sense)?

Edit2: Added a few hundred bucks and purchased an air fryer as a gift. The price was the cheapest compared to all the other shops, so it's all good.

    Price Match?

    • I forgot that they do price match. Still, I don't know what to go for though…

      • Storage device of some sort would be my go to if I was out of ideas. Otherwise, maybe bringing forward an upgrade such as a tablet.

You know you can price match right? (In most cases)

Do they still sell games? $120 should get you any game you want.

Unfortunately I've been out of gaming for many years.

  • Sell it for $100.

    • Posted it on classifieds for $95. Let's see how that goes.

  • Post on classifieds

    • It feels the expiry is too soon for classifieds, but I'm giving it a try now.

    • Hmm interested in the smart home stuff. What have you found useful and would recommend?

      • Which platform will you be going with: Apple Homekit, Google Home or Amazon Alexa? I'd go for smart lighting and/or power outlets, or a security camera

      • I use similar to these kinds of smart plugs: https://www.harveynorman.com.au/tp-link-tapo-mini-smart-wifi…
And these kinds of smart IR blasters minus the humidity and temp sensor biz: https://www.harveynorman.com.au/connect-universal-smart-ir-r…

They used to sell cheaper simple Lenovo IR Blasters, but don't seem to have them anymore. Overall every bedside lamp, a couple of floorstanding lights etc. are run on the smart plugs so we can just tell the various Google Nest Minis around the place to turn those lights off or on, and the IR blasters control all the Aircon and every TV too. Comes in super handy every day. Including setting up schedules for when a group of things turn off and on each day.

They might be like the GGs and have things like washing detergent, printer supplies etc. Buy a gift for someone that you would normally give something to for Festivus. Stock up on some essentials.
The fact that you are asking advice on what to buy indicates that any purchase you make with the $120 is useless for you.

  • Light the fire with it.

  • Added a few hundred bucks and purchased an air fryer as a gift. The price was the cheapest compared to all the other shops, so it's all good. Thanks for all the suggestioned nevertheless.

Can you buy another Gift Card with a new expiry with the existing gift card?
Otherwise sell it on Facebook Marketplace (Slightly discounted) as a 'Pickup only' and get the money before handing over anything.
