Feedback on Toyota Comprehensive Car Insurance

Hi all, I would like feedback on Toyota Comprehensive Car Insurance. The underwriter is Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Company which I have never heard about before. Their quote is comparable with RACQ, for example. NRMA is slightly cheaper than all of them.

Searched for some review on the Internet and seems they are all mixed review (one, two).

I would like to hear first hand experience if you have your Toyota insured by them. Thank you.

NRMA is slightly cheaper than all of them.

    Then go with NRMA.

    • That's my plan so far. Would consider Toyota's if they have good reviews.

Unless there's some special feature that the Toyota policy has, that NRMA doesn't, why would you want to pay more for a policy from a company that doesn't even specialise in insurance?

Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Company's parent organisation is MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings who's parent organisation is Toyota itself.

People don't realise that Japan's financial services sectors are absolutely huge.

Having said that, only you can decide if it's worth paying more than NRMA by reading and comparing both PDS documents and their particulars.

Whatever you do don’t go with Suncorp insurance. Hubbys insurance went from $249 in 2023 to $495 in 2024 a month.

What on earth are you insuring for $3k - $6k a year?

      • Perhaps hubby is under 25, owns a Skyline and had a prang?

      • Brand new LDV van, hubby purchased it from the dealership, was told Suncorp is the cheapest, (have used NRMA insurance for years and looks like we are going back there)

Kiwi investors have bought Suncorp's insurance arm.
Sent a few possums back to them!

Last round of renewals we found Suncorp to be reasonably priced. Will need to get more quotes for the next round though.
