Is This a Good Deal? (QFF Pts to Buy Breville Bambino Plus)

Qantas are having 30% off Breville items if using points. Is the Bambino Plus a good deal at 74,490pts delivered?

I know flight upgrades are the BEST value for points, but how does this stack against the usual items? Using the gift cards as a point of reference on the Qantas FF store, this works out to be $373 (using David Jones as a reference, who had the Bambino Plus on sale recently for $499).

Thanks!

This many points could almost get you a business class flight worth $3k or $4k - eg Japan one way business is about 90k points and costs from approx $6k to $8k return in cash. In my mind redeeming the points for anything else is a waste

    • I just did a search for a business flight one way to Narita in Japan and it comes up as 900k points.

  • Thanks all!

  • If you don’t have another use for them with better redemption (I.e flights) then it seems a reasonable use of points.

As mentioned above the sea salt colour is less points.

I haven't seen this Breville machine before, but it seems like a lot of money. What features are you paying for? Does it have dual boilers etc? I have been using a Rancilio Silvia the last 12 years and it was about the same price.
