Suggestions for 2 x 27" Monitors to Daisy Chain

Hi guys,

Looking to get 2 x 27" (identical looking) monitors for a dual monitor set up for work - will connect to a laptop using a daisy chain set up.

Currently leaning towards using a combination of Dell P2722HE ($339 at Scorptec) + Dell P2722H ($239 at Scorptec). These are great prices in my opinion. Only downside is these are 1080p, which I have to admit I'm not overly bothered by.

But ideally would like 2 x 1440p 27" monitors - again I want the daisy chain functionality.

Any suggestions without having to spend significantly more? I see Dell has the P2723DE but that's ~$500 for one monitor, and they don't sell the P2723D version in Australia.

Thanks.

  • The LG 27Gn850 or whatever the current model is was around 400 on amazon the other day. 1440p etc

Not sure if its still on sale though

Seems so. Bit more than I thought, thought it was low 400

    • No USB-C, no daisy chain functionality..

  • Why do you want to daisy chain? You can use a dock and use more widely available monitors

    • +2

Just the simplicity of the functionality - have used docks and have also used daisy chaining - and I prefer the daisy chain connectivity.

Docks can play up now and then, and good docks are not cheap either..

      • Daisy chain is great. I have 2x Dell U2722DE. No longer available, but has been replaced with the 120Hz TB4 model U2724DE. Circa $700 per monitor, but hopefully could get cheaper on sale!

        • Is U2724DE any good? I’m sad to see they removed the 4K res

          • @GEE-SHOCK: Yes, it’s good. I only use it for business not gaming though

            • @djsweet: Thanks! Planning on buying this monitor!! Looks like the cheapest option is to use the 7% discount on Dell’s website to bring it down to $665 ish. Hmmm

              • @GEE-SHOCK: Oh wait you’re asking about the tb4 model. I have the predecessor. I can’t personally vouch for the new model. But I know someone who has a pair of them and apparently they are good.

  • i use 2 U2118Q i got from FB marketplace some years ago really cheap

  • picked up 2 philips 275E1S last week for around $190 ea. 2k IPS 75hz - has displayport but no usb-c

  • @pbm33 what did you end up finding?

I'm in the same boat and need to find 2x 27 inch monitors for the Mrs in the next few weeks.

    • 1 x P2722HE + 1 x P2722H

  • Why don't you get a 34" curved monitor, something like Dell S3422DWG 34" Curved Gaming Monitor or better?
You can virtually split into multiple screens, etc.

    • not quite same screen real estate as 2 x 27"
