  • Active … Online

    • Don't love online courses, especially for kids.

  • +2

NGL this sounds like a huge taxpayer funded waste of money

can be put towards the cost of sport and active recreation with registered Active Kids providers

    Lobbyists getting their payday.

    • They realise it is a bit of a rort, and stopped “online” activities after COVID. My kids got a bag of Lego and some dodgy STEM YouTube’s one year, but they were pleased.
For the kids doing organised sport, it is a handy discount on the registration fees, and some of the kids teams promote it when they are doing registration days.

    • Isn't this pretty much every government "initiative"?

      • Fair point

    • Goddamn Big Sport…

  • Soccer registration

  • Used the Active one for the kids swimming classes.

  • There's plenty of holiday art classes available this week.

  • Yes looks like it has to be an offline 'real participation ' type of activity. The way Government is giving easy money to small businesses.

  • I just checked the new Active Kids voucher from Feb 2024 and they can only be claimed if your family is receiving Family Tax Benefit Part A…. Which caps out at 112k for household income. we are over that amount.
I don't think its a very high threashold, if you think about, that is like if two adults earning 56k , they will reach the FTB limit for household.
    Kinda disappointing..

    • Yeah … Gov has to cut back on some of the stimulus designed to hand money to trade and small businesses.
