Purchasing Gym equipment - Are you selling any?

Hi Ozbargainers,

I was looking at getting back in shape this summer and need some loose weights.

As a true Ozbargainer, I don't really believe in gyms as I believe I can achieve similar results at home.

I have 4 dumbell handles, but one lock is stuck - so effectively I have 2.

However, I don't have enough weights for them to do bicep curls.

I am looking to purchase either off a Sydney Ozbargainer within a metro area or south east of Sydney as I am currently residing in the Sutherland Shire.

I am looking at purchasing approx. x4 5kg weights with i believe an inch circumference in the middle for the handle. If anyone knows of a site with very good prices please let me know!!!

I am starting soon and competing with a friend so the stakes are on.

    Might want to check out gumtree, I have found some bargains there for weights before. Only thing is that it'll be second hand, I don't know if you have a problem with that.
    Obviously the condition can vary depending on the previous owner.
    Also I would suggest buying cast iron, and try to find weights under $2/kg (for cast iron). Imo, ideally $1.5/kg or less.

    I am interested Kira. However, I can't find the PM button. How much were the weights?

    like the whole set of weights = 40kg?
    2x 2.5kg
    4.5kg
    2x10kg etc etc?

    and how much were you looking to sell it for?

      sorry it took so long.

      had a look at home, i have:

      4 x 2.5kg plates
      4 x 2kg plates
      4 x 1kg plates

      i might give them to my gf instead (will ask if she wants) but otherwise they are sitting at home not being used.

      make me an offer and i'll see if I let them go? BTW could not PM you.

    I have weight bench n weights that came with it. I'm in Maroubra u can have them if u carry them out! To heavy for me lol
