Recommend Me an Accountant in Melbourne Who Is Good with Investment Properties

Hello all,

Wondering if someone can recommend a decent accountant in Melbourne (Ideally south east) who can assist with buying an investment property. I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to select/find someone. I am happy to pay a decent amount for their services, but want to find someone who is worth paying for.

Cheers,

assist with buying an investment property

I think you are looking for a buyers agent. Why would an accountant be any more qualified to help you buy an IP?

On a serious note. I recommend Empower Wealth.

This is a reverse Real Estate Agent?

    • Second buyers agents.. or even a financial planner could help

  • who can assist with buying an investment property

You need to define what it really means?

Let me assume you need them to work out:
    1. What is the tax benefit of buying a property for your income
    2. Implications when it comes to sell (after CGT) the gain might screw you over. Say if you make $150k and make $100k after CGT you pay $60k at top tax bracket and government double screw your super when your concessional tax goes from 15% to 30%

    It is fun games.

      Is he a dick?

  • I believe there'll be a wave of negative gearing going ahead this year…

Seems like every man and his dog has an IP. Ended well for America…

  • You probably want a solicitor more than you want an accountant. All you need for accounting is to keep good records/receipts.

Unless you're planning on buying it through a trust or some dodgy overseas investment vehicle or something.
